Whats with the noise?

All of a sudden, over the last 2 -3 weeks my band makes the loudest noises just after a couple bites if food. I have 2-3 bites and the noise kicks in and I have to stop and wait 30 min to an hour before I can resume my meal. I wanted to know if only I could hear it or if people around me could too. So I recorded it and it is loud. To save embarrassment I will only have some soup at lunch at work. I don't want people around me to hear.

Anyone have any ideas. I had a fill last November but it seems like the noise has started the last couple of weeks. Anyone have any info ?? Help!

I have no idea....weird..call your doctor. Other than the noise, does it feel funny or bad?

You have just begun to hear noises. It s your food passing through your band. I would imagine when we swallow air that it helps make the noise louder. Welcome to your band talking to you. It can be embarrassing when you are sitting with a bunch of people and it starts talking while you are eating.

Music to my ears! Every morning with my first cup of coffee I hear that "Gurgling" sound....like Water cricleing a drain...

Question...why do you stop eating and then continue later???/ When the band says stop...I stop! One of the most important lessons I ever learned, was to listen to my band.....Otherwise I would get into the bad habit of grazing...

I stop eating so I can keep it down and then I can eat the rest a little later. Hater maybe 30 min the noise stops and I can eat the rest. Sometimes the noise continues for 20-29 min. It happens after only 4 bites of food so that's not enough to live off of.

my band gurgles too my issue is that i seem to burp a lot more. Does anyone else go threw this

  • 2 weeks later...

My stomach is always grumbling and growling. It's done that since day 1 after surgery. I burp as well. The band is preventing our bodies from quickly releasing all the air that builds up while we eat now. I think that's why I tend to have lots of little burps while I eat. I just ignore it. I figured out that hiccups are my "stop signal". Once I start hiccupping, my meal is over. ... or else I'll be sorry I didn't quit eating.

I get hunger gurgles and burps, but I have never had a noise from my band! Now I'm scared! LOL
