After my 2 week liquid diet, 2 week mushie diet, I have finally progressed to solid foods. I was really hungry and wanted a bite of bread. Bread has gone down before, but I didn't chew it enough yesterday. It did not go down well. My body didn't even want to swallow Water. I forced some water down but it didn't move the bread. I did have to go to the bathroom at the restaurant and it was just, I guess it's called more of a PB than full on vomiting. The bread still didn't come up but I felt a bit better. I was able to eat my meal. Fast forward to today, my throat still feels swollen and I still feel sick. I only had a Protein shake this morning. I called my surgeons office and the nurse said to stay on warm liquids for 24 hours and to call them back if I don't feel better. I have not had a fill yet and was thinking it would go down since my surgery swelling went down. Sigh.
Do you guys have any other suggestions? Have you still felt nauseated the next day? I feel more like there's something still in the back of my throat and that makes me feel like I need to throw up. It's difficult to drink coffee or anything else. It's going down, but my body doesn't want to swallow anything.
