I took one month off work- and it was wonderful! I worked like a dog preop to save money to actually "enjoy" recovering, not worry about going back, and to allow myself to heal. I had no swollen ankle

  • I will be going back to work this Tuesday. I was sleeved on the 17 of Dec, so it will be 4 weeks exactly from my surgery date. I'm happy I used my FMLA and I had a lot of PLB that I was able to use.

I took 4 weeks off. The doctors stressed that I shouldn't rush back. I had the PS time, so why not? Not only am I focusing on healing physically, but I'm growing with my sleeve emotionally and mentall

I was back at work in 10 days, but I've read several posts about being back at work after only 3 or 4 days.

I am off six weeks due to the fact my job requires heavy lifting.

I went back 3 weeks after surgery. I wanted to go back 2 weeks after but my back pains didnt allow me....Even with me going back to work 3 weeks after, my back pains was brutal. My best advice to everyone is to TAKE YOUR TIME. Let your body rest and remember this is a major surgery and your body is changing. Please dont rush it...

I took 2 weeks off. I have a desk job and felt good when I went back. Best to you!!

I go back Monday it will be a month then. I'm a teller at a bank and I'm always back and forth and lifting coin boxes. I'm taking a additional two weeks of no lifting.

honey love, you are amazing! I give you a lot of credit!

Jaime Kissinger, I was very exhausted and tired. I slept every chance I got and on my days off, I slept the first 24 hours. Thank goodness my hubby and kids were so supportive. I just started having more energy and less sleepy last week, bout 4 weeks post op. I am forever greatful and appreciative that I had a fantastic recovery despite not getting the proper rest.

I was off exactly 3 weeks..could have gone back at 2 weeks if I took it easy..hope that helps

Went back to work today after 13 days today to an office job. I'm very tired and my abs are sore - apparently it takes a lot to sit up for 8 hrs.

I went back to work yesterday and really had trouble getting all my liquids in. :-/

Hi all i took off a month my dr said since i lift and am very active a both jobs a month should be fine. i am glad i could not have be comfortable going back in 2 week. i should be great when i go back

Hey there,

I'm just over a week out and feel like I could go back to work yesterday. I have a desk job which makes it easier, my only concern is feeling fatigued. I plan on going back next Monday (2 weeks out) and trying it out with a half day. I'm lucky enough to have saved a bunch of vacation time so that helps with the financial stress. My coworkers are all supportive and my boss is amazing so I'm not worried about going in to be paid to sit on my butt :) Good luck to you!

Angela :)
