  4. This is what I PLAN on eating but I measure ALL of my food (I highly suggest buying a food scale too it's worth the $20!) everything goes through the food processor with the exception of lunch meats which I slice super thin and chew for what seems like hours. Breakfast for example, I say I'm going to have a scrambled egg but in reality I'm having about 2/3 of an egg. I will be starting week 4 this week (same as week three) which is still mushies. Everything I'm eating pretty much looks like cat food! I also use baby spoons and forks to help with bite sizes. Good luck everyone and happy Monday!
  5. Hey there, I just wanted to give you all the chance to see what I've been doing (as far as meal planning ) to make working and feeding a non VSG husband a little easier! Please feel free to let me know if you'd like recipes Weeks34mealplan.txt
  6. Hey there, I'm only 2.5 weeks out but I'm able to have mushies and any meat that I can pulverize in a food processor. Here's what I did! Feel free to message me for recipes! 7. Hey there, I'm two and a half weeks out and able to have soft meats and mushie; basically anything soft after I annihilate it in my food processor. I find that sweet potato mash with a little agave syrup (low glycemic)and pumpkin spice keeps me full (complex carb, low glycemic index and fiber!) Another good one is tuna salad with avocado (8oz is 13-15 g of protein)
  8. Hey there, You'll know when you're full. As you can see everyone is different. For me, it feels tight in my rib cage and it sounds like pop rocks in my chest/stomach (digesting). Good luck!

  10. I'm two weeks out today and was told no lifting or any crazy classes but walking and riding a bike if it's comfortable. I think the sit down stationary bikes at the gym are the best bet since there's no hunching over.

  14. Hey there, I had the same thing happen and actually had a high white blood cell count when I had my surgery. My suggestion is to SLEEP! and get a B-12 shot if possible. Stay away from all the sickies too! Good luck!
  15. Hey there everyone, I'm about a week and a half out (liquid diet with Protein shakes, non creamy Soups, and Greek yogurt). Before my surgery, I lost 45 lbs on my own; now I'm sitting at home with 6 belly scars wondering how much weight is going to come off and when it's going to decide to do so. I know that everyone is different so I'm just speaking generally. How much did you lose and what was the time frame? I'm not impatient (my surgery date was a year in the making) just curious. Thanks
  16. Hey there, I'm just over a week out and feel like I could go back to work yesterday. I have a desk job which makes it easier, my only concern is feeling fatigued. I plan on going back next Monday (2 weeks out) and trying it out with a half day. I'm lucky enough to have saved a bunch of vacation time so that helps with the financial stress. My coworkers are all supportive and my boss is amazing so I'm not worried about going in to be paid to sit on my butt Good luck to you! Angela
  17. Hey there, It's not too close but not that far either what brought you to CA?

  22. I'm only a week out but I lost about 45lbs in 4 months (paleo diet) before my surgery. The worst one I've gotten that always seems to rub me the wrong way is "you dress so well for your size". Thank you for the back handed compliment. I know it must be hard in regular sized person world to fathom that a plus size person isn't running around in a tent.
  23. Hey there, I had my surgery on 1/6 of this year. I'm feeling pretty good but thought it would be nice to make friends in my area who are in the same boat as me! I'd love to meet people in Los Angeles or San Fernando!
  24. Hey there, I am six days out as well. I'm almost completely off the pain meds (except for at night to sleep) and am on a clear liquid diet plus protein shakes. I wake up feeling tired and sluggish and have taken a two to three hour nap every day. In the hospital I got hardly any rest (the hospital is not a place for sleeping). I'm trying to walk as much as I can (I got in a half mile yesterday) and I think that helps a bit. It's normal to feel tired. Our bodies have gone through a lot in the past few days; remember, we're missing 85% of a major organ! Take it easy and good luck!

  27. Happy New Year to you all from SoCal I'm scheduled for January 6th at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, Ca, with Dr. Miguel Burch. I'm super nervous but ready... except for the part where I need to do 356 things before Monday :0 Good luck to you all!
