When did you go back on birth control?

My surgeon (who has a horrible bedside manner but amazing skills) said I had to wait 3 months and that I should not have sex with my husband for those 3 months plus a month additional while I wait for the birth control to kick in. That sounds insane to me.

Sounds insane to me also. My dr had me go off bcp's for a month prior (blood clot reasons I guess) but I went back on them immediately afterwards. We had to use condoms (had sex about 10 days after surgery. Wasn't enjoyable but it wasn't painful either) for the first month while my bcp's kicked back in.

What's his reason for #1 u can start taking the pill and #2 not suggesting a back up method of birth control? 3 months sounds ridiculous...

Then I'm telling yours. Next time, they'll ask to watch. ;)

Oh my! Mine had me start birth control two months BEFORE surgery. Also said we could have sex as soon as I felt like it- we made it almost two weeks!

I bet your partner is happy! Please start another thread for this in the Powder Room so this one stays on track. I'm moving this one to the Powder Room too.
