Anyone go back to work two weeks after surgery?

My Bariatric team recommends a month to recover. Unfortunately, I can't afford to stay out the full month. I go back exactly 2 weeks after surgery and I'm a bit nervous. I'm still having incision pain. And I work in the medical field. I go back in four more days. Had anyone gone back this early? If so, was your incision pain gone? And how did your body handle going back so soon?

  • I had surgery on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday. Of course, I only took off a few days after having my kids and think I both heal fast and have a high pain tolerance. I work in an office.

I went back after two weeks. I have predominantly an office job, plus teaching college classes, so not very physically demanding. I did ok, but I really could have used one more week energy wise.

I went back on post op day 10 and I'm a nurse. No problems other than needing a little nap when I got home that first week. Sip water all day! I found that wearing a flexes or spandex type of undergarment under my scrubs helped a lot!

Well, it seems to be a theme here but I'm also in the medical field. I can take up to 4 weeks, but I think I'll go back at 3 weeks on January 2. Just found out right after my surgery I have a very serious medical issue that I may need some time off for so I want to save some.

I went back after 2 weeks...no issues here! Although my job is moderately sedentary...
