First Fill Today

Had my surgery oct 24th and had my first fill today. My dr gave me 3.5 cc of solution. Then he put me back on liquids (ugh) until Sunday. I just ate a full bowl of cream of mushroom soup and I felt no restriction at all. Now I'm drinking a full glass of ginger tea and still don't feel restriction. Do you think I should've gotten more of a fill?

Hi Nancy, I just got my first fill, too (Wednesday) and will go back next week to assess for another. I get full on a small amount but am hungry again after a couple or few hours -- I am looking for the 4-5 hour range. It's definitely a process determining whether hunger is real or it's old habit, etc. I'm just happy to be snacking on something like 4 almonds when in the old days I'd have so much more. Then go back for more. Immediately post-band I did not think about food. Looking for that feeling as well. A real dimming of the appetite to the point where the brain chatter is gone.

It may take 3-6 months to find consistent restriction.

The restriction u feel the first few days after a fill is due to the swelling and irritation. Once it subsides u'll be able to eat again.

Any weightloss before the green zone will be according to ur own dieting & exercise habits.
