Sleep Apnea?

Man I can't wait until I lose this weight for good once I'm banded. I have sleep apnea and I get up in the middle of the night in shock, heart rate pounding to where I feel like its not beating, then I go into panic because I get some sort of anxiety when it happens. Ugh!!! Anyone had sleep apnea with their weight at a high?

Yes, I did. Now, not only do I no longer have a sleep apena but I don't even snore anymore. It's pretty awesome!

I am on a CPAP machine now -- love/hate relationship. Sounds like you need one quick, regardless of whether it's only temporary. Could change -- or save -- your life. I hope to get off mine once banded and weight comes off but I had sleep issues as a thinner person so I don't know if that will be possible. All I know is my machine allows me to get into a deep sleep. There's nothing like it.

I have not used my CPAP machine in close to a month. With it I sleep very very poor now and no doubt I am getting too much pressure from it now. I no longer snore (according to my Wife) and I sleep pretty sound and feel rested. I have a new sleep study scheduled in January just to ensure I am in the clear.

Good call!

I have been using a cpap for 10 years now. Couldn't sleep without it. Since I have lost some weight I have lowered my pressure some with the docs approval. When I think I can get off of it I will have another sleep study to be sure. Why? Because heart attacks and strokes suck.

Good luck on your sleep study in Jan. I'm going to get one hopefully soon. I hate those episodes. Thanks

Congratulations on that -- awesome. AND, I just looked at your ticker! Wow! You have done such an amazing job of recovering your health. Truly amazing. Hat's off to you!
