Liquid Diet variations

Has anyone experimented with their liquid diets? As far as shakes go? I have the isopure in the creamy vanilla and have been considering adding some fresh fruit or organic peanut butter, can I do that? Has anyone done anything like that? Just getting a little bored with the vanilla. Do any of you lovely ladies and gents have suggestions?

Hi Swanky, I've been using frozen fruit -- just keeping track of the calories. It's a nicer smoother smoothie with fruit than with just ice. Today I did just a half a frozen banana because I was worried about calories, which is ridiculous because it's day three and I've been under the target each day. I'm afraid I'd go wild with peanut butter!

I just did one scoop of organic banana Peanut Butter that I got at whole foods and let me tell you, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Are you using Water or skim milk with your shakes? I have actually added some instant coffee to the vanilla shake in the morning and it tastes great, kind of like a frappe. I welcome all suggestions!

Thanks bandista!! I always look forward to your posts, you have so much insight!

I use almond milk and iced coffee(am shake) with my Protein shakes.

I was told I could have any fruits except bananas- because of the sugars I guess?

I didn't know if I was able to use skim milk but it seems like it should be okay. I'm doing three shakes a day with low sodium broth and sugar free Popsicles in between. I'm also drinking tons of water and some crystal light for flavor. I've been adding fresh berries and other fruit in the shakes. Does anyone have any suggestions to curb the cravings?

I am always reading about the protein shakes. I was in my dr office on Monday and they tell me NO protein shakes at all. And NO fruit at all. Only meat and veggies. Also NO sweeteners and NO sugar free anything. So, ok, let's be real ! I'm going to at least have some sweeteners. Gotta have a life.

I use ff milk, chocolate Protein powder , a little decaf instant coffee , some peppermint extract and tons of ice. They are great. I have one every morning for 1 1/2 years. They are very thick like McDonalds.

This may be different but it sounds like an excellent plan as far as retraining to have the foods you will need post-band to lose weight (protein, veggies). Getting off the artificial sweeteners is ground-breaking -- there are many studies that show these are contributors to appetite and weight issues (that's just for starters). Maybe you'd like to talk to your doctor about Steevia if you have to have something sweet; it's from a plant and does not trigger the brain in the same ways as aspartame, etc. Sounds like he/she is trying to get patients off of fake sugars, soda addictions, etc. to prepare for a new way of eating.

Try adding PB 2 to your shakes, especially the chocolate ones! Yum! http://www.bellplantation.com/

I use Herbalife and add a teaspoon of peanut butter and a teaspoon of fat free butterscotch pudding mix
