Just wanted to say I haven't forgot about you all. I have company over this weekend until tomorrow and it makes it hard to do the calendar stuff. Good luck to those having surgery today: janifer's hubby, rnjsnana & mychoice2lose.

My surgery is scheduled for Nov 20th, been on this road for about a year. Ive lost 60 lbs so far and cannot wait to start my new life. Im coming to grips that i have to say goodbye to my best friend (food). Im having RNY. First time posting on this forum. I hope everyone does well! :)

Hey Moxy! You are 2 days before me!! Good luck!!

Hi Everyone! I wanted to thank you all for your kind words, wisdom, encouragement and inspiration. But even more than that your prayers. Everything went well and we are already home

Hi Kristie! Thank you for the calendar and wishing you a speedy recovery. You are in my thoughts in prayers!

Janifer - I wanted to answer your message personally however, this darn new system says I'm not allowed to. How frustrating! Anyway - I am SO glad to hear you and your husband are doing well! I'm halfway through my pre-op diet. I'm 9 days away from surgery. I cannot believe it! How did you get to go home so fast? I thought my hospital was great with a 2 day stay!!

Yay! So exciting :) congrats! Mine is the 22nd. I'm having it on my 30th bday! We will be joining the losers bench within 3 days of each other!! Best of luck!!

And my day is 11/26. Today is my 3rd day on preop diet and OMG!! It's a beast! I'm hungry and I just feel kinda out of it...had to take a day off from work to try and get the hang of this. I keep telling myself that this is a speed bump and once I get used to this, it'll be surgery day before I know it!! ????

The first 3 days of the diet are really hard. But, by day 4 it gets better. I'm halfway through and now I barely feel hungry and I'm just around 800-1100 cals per day. Anybody who says fat people don't have willpower is wrong! Lol you got this!!!

Oh and what I have found works for me is Twinings Purely Peppermint Naturally Decaf. I do a cup every afternoon and evening. It's really yummy! And peppermint is a natural appetite suppressant!

November 26th!

Haven't been this excited in years!

Wow we're all so close in our dates! I haven't started a pre op diet/liquid diet yet... Haven't been told to do so. My pre surgery testing and nutrition class is on Monday, exactly a wk b4 my surgery. I think I start then... I wonder why some ppl have 2wk pre op diets, some have 1 wk diets & some don't diet at all.

I've always wondered the same thing as well - Personally, I think it comes down to the surgeon, the nutritionist and the body type of the person. I've seen a LOT of people have a liquid diet. I don't have that - I'm actually allowed to eat up until midnight the day before my surgery! I'm just on a liver shrinking diet which is basically high protein/low carb. I've lost 7 pounds this week so something is working! But yes I have wondered that too. Consider yourself lucky if you only have 1 week!!
