Just make sure you are using calcium citrate and not carbonate.

You get used to them. Sometimes I suck on them and let them dissolve. Not so chalky that way.

Are the calcium chews the calcium citrate too?

I'm pre op and am already using Bariactric Fusion multi vitamins. I suck on them for a while, then chew them. It's not so bad that way. The strawberry seems to have the least after taste. I'm still on an iron pill, B complex and Vitamin D 1000 IU twice a day. And for now I'm doing calcuim gummies three times a day.

I just got home from the drug store' date=' I went for cal citrate, multi with Iron and got so over whelmed I walked out...I want to get gummies cuz they dont taste as bad as the chalkie ones, but they have 7 or more grams of sugar, is that normal amt or will I get dumping syndrome....never thought it would be this hard to get vitamins![/quote']

multi gummies also get stuck a lot cause they have a very hard time being digested

Yes, I was told that by the NP so I got the chalky ones....

Most over the counter calcium chews even at gnc are made with calcium carbonate and not calcium citrate. We RNY patients need the citrate because it is absorbed soo much better. The carbonate even in non RNY people is less absorbent and usually needs to be taken with food. Always but calcium citrate!
