Just make sure you are using calcium citrate and not carbonate.

You get used to them. Sometimes I suck on them and let them dissolve. Not so chalky that way.

I also have a hard time with large pills. I bought calcium citrate in capsule form. I take the powder out of the capsules and mix the powder either in my yogurt' date=' cottage cheese, or my Protein shake.

Where did you buy them? Thats a good idea.

I just got home from the drug store' date=' I went for cal citrate, multi with Iron and got so over whelmed I walked out...I want to get gummies cuz they dont taste as bad as the chalkie ones, but they have 7 or more grams of sugar, is that normal amt or will I get dumping syndrome....never thought it would be this hard to get vitamins![/quote']

My surgeon told me to avoid gummies. They apparently don't push through the pouch very well

If you have trouble finding the right Calcium in the store, Amazon sells bariatric calcium. For multis I take flintstones. Can't take tummies, they dot digest right.

I was told the same about the calcium chews...stay away..so I guess i will just get the chalkie ones...at least till I heal...

I bought them at the Vitamin shoppe. They are 250mg each so you have to take a total of 6 a day.

Get sublingual b12. It goes under the tongue. I'm pretty sure that its a standard dose. Then a chewable multi Vitamin. I use flintstones complete or the generic Walmart version. Some docs don't like you taking the flintstones for whatever reason so they do make a chewable Centrum or one a day. I can't remember which. They are kinda hard to find tho. I wouldn't listen to dr oz. Every single day something is good/bad for you and then low and behold a week later it the opposite. Talk to your nut or doc about these things. They know what works for this surgery.

sublingual B12, I usually have my patients start at 500...however, those aren't barbaric patients so harass your doc for the dose he recommends. I also do the flint stones complete (Kroger generic) it has iron.

B12 is 500mg a day. I take Flintstones complete for Multivitamin. They have the iron in them.

Thanks everyone...

I take the calcium chews in lemon and berry. I was having trouble with the chewable chalky ones - I was getting to hate them! The chewy ones taste just like starburst fruit chews. It's more like a treat than a necessary mineral. Buy several flavors and mix them up so you get variety - yummy!

tried these and you are right the lemon are yummy but the chocolate are so gross had to spit it out. so for my calcium intake I used calcium crystals it is something I can add to my protein drinks and unflavored so doesn't change the taste.
