I had some alcolhol about six weeks out nothing bad happen

I had wine about 3 months post op and nothing, I am 14 months post op and have a glass of wine with dinner and nothing. If you do try wine I would try it at home just to be on the safe side.

I was wondering this myself. Thanks for any input! Ill keep ya posted on my experience. :)

I do wine. A glass with dinner. Sometimes, I go all out and have two. All is good. I stick with Pinot noir or Grigio (less sugars). One time I drank way too much (5 glasses on a night out) and felt very ill the next day; as in shakes, diarrhea, thought I needed the er. Don't suggest overdoing it.

I have no problems with wine. 4 months post op

My surgeon says no alcohol for 1 year. Also, there is the fact that one of the long term side effects of RNY is alcohol addiction.
