June surgeries!

Hey all! I looked around and couldn't find anything for June surgeries. I don't have my exact date yet, but it will be the 1st or 2nd week of June!! Sooo excited!! I had my lap band out on April 18th and they were supposed to do the bypass, but they weren't able to due to scar tissue. I saw my surgeon today and all should be a go for June! Yay!!!! RNY here I come!!!

Awww' date=' try it again in a few weeks, it'll treat your stomach better, I believe that. How did it make you feel? Im on liquid, I'm scared to start the protein shakes...but I'm going to follow the directions, hope you feel better.[/quote']

Hey... It tastes amazing!! Haha but a few hours later and even right now I am nauseated. It has definitely started to ease up, but its still there. Just annoying. Unfortunately, I know for a fact that I've barely had any fluids today, let alone, what my daily requirement is. I'm just going to keep sipping till bedtime then start new tomorrow.

Had surgery on Tuesday. I came home today feeling pretty good. Allowed to have full liquids however protein shake felt a little heavy. I've been working on water most of the day. Crystal light isn't doing the trick. It's either too sweet or sour. Gas is not unbearable but a little uncomfortable. Hope everyone is recovering well and best of luck to those waiting for their surgery!

Glad to hear that you got home and feel good. I hope you are soon able to get in some protein.

Thanks for tracking this and putting it together!

My surgery is June 26th and I'm on day 2 of the pre op diet. I'm so nervous and excited that I can barely drink the protein shakes.

Hi all! I have 3 days 15 hours and 55 minutes until my surgery!.....but whose counting? It sounds like everyone is recovering well....slow but well from surgery. I can't wait to be on the loosers bench with everyone. Question: Does everyone have a drainage tube when they leave the hospital or do they take it out there???

I had one in for a week and just got it pulled today. I was SO scared that it would be painful. Actually, I didn't even feel it once the whole time it was in and didn't realize when the nurse had pulled it out that it was done. Lol all in all, not a bad experience. The worst part was trying to shower with it. I figured out that if I pinned it on the shower curtain, it was a piece of cake. Haha

I did not have a drainage tube.

I had one too and got it pulled today I'm 8 days out. .. it felt akward but not painful

I didn't have one. My surgeon said he rarely places them unless the patient is "different inside" lol

I'm not sure if this is the place to join, but I just found this forum today and what awesome information I've found! It has also been great to see that everyone so far has had pretty good experiences. I am having surgery on 6/19 (revision from lap band). I am 30 years old, mother to two little ones and I'm super nervous, but feel peace about my decision. I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you!
