June surgeries!

Hey all! I looked around and couldn't find anything for June surgeries. I don't have my exact date yet, but it will be the 1st or 2nd week of June!! Sooo excited!! I had my lap band out on April 18th and they were supposed to do the bypass, but they weren't able to due to scar tissue. I saw my surgeon today and all should be a go for June! Yay!!!! RNY here I come!!!

I think everyone goes thru it. But now being on the other side I can say I worried more than I should have. I'm not saying this has been easy. It isn't easy at all! But a lot of the things I worried about never happened.

Does anyone else have zero energy? I'm 9 days post op and I'm finding even little tasks are difficult like taking a shower or doing a load of laundry. I feel like there's a hundred pounds pressing down on my shoulders. I managed to get all my protein in yesterday but was short on my water. Most days I get most if not all my fluid in but I'm short on protein.

Oh I feel like I can't make it through a complete chore! I start washing dishes...finish them later. Start washing clothes....finish them later. We went to two stores and I was dragging and weak before we could finish. I'm just pooped!

Okay I've been on my pre-op liquid diet for just about two weeks and have lost 15 pounds. This makes me wonder if I should get the surgery or continue this diet......then I ask myself "What would be the first thing I would do if I decided not to go through with the surger?" My answer is order a large pizza and start the diet on Monday...... hahahaha guess I'm going to go through with the surgery! Super excited only 3 days 1 hour and 24 minutes away........ =+)

How long did it take? I'm on day 10...no bowel movement

I had the worlds tiniest BM a few days ago. Today it finally really woke up. I'm day 8. But I'm full liquids so I have been putting protein and calories in.

I lost 9 lbs on 30 days of liquids preop. I totally get your fears.

I haven't been tolerating protein shakes or yogurt very well so I decided to try something different. I made one egg soft scrambled and added a little mild salsa juice for flavor. I was very mushy and I chewed it to death. It went down well without pain... hopefully it stays down!

Got the test results in and everything is normal!! Surgery is still on track for the 26th. Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

Mine was stomach too

I was told to never inject in the stomach, I was told to do it in my thighs, to switch up each day.

Hi all! I have 3 days 15 hours and 55 minutes until my surgery!.....but whose counting? It sounds like everyone is recovering well....slow but well from surgery. I can't wait to be on the loosers bench with everyone. Question: Does everyone have a drainage tube when they leave the hospital or do they take it out there???

I had one, but it was removed the next day following surgery, after the removal, I received relief, I couldn't have made it if I had to go home with it but ive read a lot of people say they went home with one.

I am still in the hospital but I will have a drain for a month

What's the reason for the drainage tube for so long?

I was told to do a different spot every day. The nurse said pretend my belly button was a clock and go to a different spot around the clock each day.

What's the reason for the creation for so long?

I think because I was a revision from band to bypass. I had two drains. They took one out today and the other will stay un until my month follow up. It helps with the gas and bloating.
