No more protien shakes

I'm two weeks post op today and am soooo tired of protien shakes. Tommorow I start puréed foods. I am still having trouble sipping. I get thirsty and so i gulp too much at a time and feel miserable. This has gotta get better. Ooh and left side is still sore. I have lost 16 pounds so far in exactly two weeks. I thought it would be more because I prolly only do about 250 cals a day!

  • As much as you hate the shakes you MUST drink them it is VERY important to get your protein to sustain life.

  • I just made protein pudding, using 2 cups of skim, 2 scoops of protein powder, and 1 small box of SF pudding. It's really yummy, and I think u can get 6-8 servings out of it.

You are on track and it gets better! Hang in there and take it day by day.

Yeah, I HATE those horrible shakes too. I just pinch my nose and sip. Just do your best and you will get though. Hang in there :)

Smells and tastes nasty. At this point I am on liquids and no protein unless in some if the Peanut Butter or baby food I seem to be able to get down a little. Someone should really work on this stuff....

Yep and I've tried all didn't brand shakes and flavors. Tired of the milkey and watery taste

I could not drink them after surgery. In fact it was not until 7 months later that I can stand them. I had all the side effects of lack of protein. Trust me it is much better to get your protein in. I found a protein that I can mix with 4 oz of liquid. I get my protein in and can drink it in one gulp.
