nearly 6 months post op...

and i just wanted to share how happy im feeling!.

i have just got under 200 pounds from a starting weight of 283. to prove to myself that this is a hell of a lot of weight, i tried picking up to large Water bottles, you know the kind that fit of water cooler. two of them weigh 38 kgs which is the amount i have lost. i could believe how heavy they were, no wonder it was so hard for me to do things like get up from a chair, walk or even climb stairs. i didnt last 2 minutes with the bottles in my hands before i gave up. it made the weight loss SO real.

my hair was falling out alot of late, so last week i went and had it cut very short and dyed red. i feel 20 years younger!

the best thing of this operation is that i feel so normal. i have got into a routine of what to eat, exercising and just being without that horrible pressure of trying to control my eating. i have stalled a lot during the months, but as i knew it would happen, i didn't worry too much which would never have happen pre-op. i have become a bit addicted to sport... something i never thought would happen. I walk every morning for about an hour, and go to spinning classes twice a week and fat girls aerobics class also twice a week too... the aerobic studio loves me as im a great advertising for them ! lol everything someone asks me what im doing to lose weight i say that i go to the aerobics studio.....

i eat basically anything within reason, no sugar of course, but i dont feel limited by my food intake. This could be due to the fact that i suffered from years of nothing being able to eat nearly anything without being sick (due to the horrible lap band). For me, a meal that i can sit down and eat with my family - no matter what the portion size- is brilliant.

i tried to find photos of me pre op today, and could only find 6 photos of myself that i have kept in the last 2 years! i would always either shy away from the camera, or delete them from the computer/camera asap. i thought how sad it would be for my children not to have any photos of me with them. i am going to change that!

Judith's you I've me hope I am an ex lapbander x2 and hated that stuck feeling as well. I am only three weeks out from my conversion surgery. My biggest issue was/has been the pain from all the adhesions/scar tissue. If your not on Biotin for your hair/skin/nails get on it you can take 5000mg and there is a Shampoo made by pureology that has Biotin in it and its all vegan it's a bit pricey but so concentrates you only need a size of a pea for both shampoo and conditioner. Congrats on your success I hope to have the same outcome as you. I am extremely tired from not sleeping well and the pain.

Congrats. I'm a band to bypass revision scheduled for March 21. It's nice to see you are doing well. I have the same issues with photos and look forward to lots more family photos with me actually in them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
