Does anyone have a list of medications that are allowed/prohibited after RNY? I'm 7 weeks post-op and I'm starting to feel sickly with a cold/flu/possible strep throat coming on. I absolutely CANNOT get sick days before New Years Eve!

I'm shocked that my surgeon hasn't given me a list of medications that are acceptable for the common winter cold, so any information is greatly appreciated! If you need to email it to me, that's fine. Just let me know and I'll send you my email address privately.

I had the same last week and took Tylenol. It helped. You can call your surgeon for advice on medications. Get better soon

I believe someone on here was taking sudafed. I personally would look for some childrens meds, they are easier on lil bellies!

I was told I could take Tylenol cold. Sudafed and NyQuil. I ended up getting worse and had to have cough syrup with codeine but have had no problems

No Motrin, advil or ibuprofen. They burn the pouch. Liquid Tylenol. And small pills

Felt the same way pharmacist said "Airborne" to help build up against whatever it was and it worked.
