January Dates

  • Popular Post

I am starting this so all of us who are beginning 2013 in a big way can share stories, advice and experiences.

My surgery date is 1/21/13 and this has been a year long journey for me. I began last December with a physical and my Dr. and I decided it was time. I had to go through 6 months of weigh-ins and visits with the nutritionist before I was even allowed to see the surgeon. I finally met him in July and then was given a whole new list of tests and appointments that needed to be done. My insurance finally approved me earlier this month, but only for surgery after January 1, so January 21st it is.

I am so excited to start this journey and thank you all in advance for sharing your experiences here!

For me, there is a significant difference in "hunger" now. I can eat or not, drink or not-BUT, if I see something good, or smell something yummy-it's then that I think I'm hungry and want to eat it. It's the same for craving food with crunch or even just a little bit of substance to chew on.

The 1st few days after surgery I was always thirsty, that only happens at night now when I wake up and have to reach for my water and take a sip necause my mouth is dry. I have to be cognizent of getting in my water and protein, or I think I would go most of the day without much nutrition. Finding it crazy that I'm worried about eating over 450 calories....

Wow theres so many 22nds thats awesome. I hope everyone a speedy recovery. Im so excited its finally here 2 more days

Thank u darling :)

So basically its mental? The "hunger" for something yummy? its not so much that youre really "hungry" & HAVE to eat something.

Thats how i think now pre-surgery i can eat something and i can see or smell something better and want to stuff my face with it, maybe old habits die hard?

I'm up late and can't fall asleep! I have to be up in 4 hours to get ready to go to the hospital. My surgery is the first one in the morning. My mind is just running. I'm just hoping for some peaceful sleep tonight. Goodnight all
