So im having surgery tomorrow and am wondering if maybe i should go buy a laxative... I find it strange that Im having surgery on my stomach/intestines and they didnt give me anything to make sure i was "cleaned out"? Am i just being a worry wart or what?

Ive been on a two week diet of liquids and non starchy veggies

The day before my surgery my doctor just had me go to a all clear diet if u question it call the doctor but if they didnt tell u your doing fine.

That is odd I would double check with the surgeons office. At 5pm the night before I had to drink a bottle of mag. Citrate.... Yuck!

Surgery 7/25/12

The day before my surgery I had to eat light and at 6 pm I had to take the magensium citrate (2 bottles) and nothing to eat after 6 pm. I was nice and cleaned out for surgery in the a.m. I would contact your doctors office, or re-read your instructions if they gave you any.

I just went to my preop my surgery is the 18th. I have to do the cleanse the day before and then clear fluids til midnight.

I was on a pre op diet 2 weeks before then Clear Liquids day before. I didnt have to do anything else..... every doctor requires something different so call ur doctor

I am also having surgery in the morning and my doctor hasnt told me to do any kind of cleanse.
