I am on it too, and it is difficult. I just eat lots of SF Popsicles, SF Jello, broths, to keep full!!!!

I know it is hard but extremely necessary if you are having it done laproscopically or with the davinci robot. My surgeon operated on a patient a few days before me, she was in the room next o mine; and my husband heard him telling her family members that she had undigested food in her stomach and they had to open her which then she developed a serious wound infection. I am sure this is not a common occurence but definetly scary!

I have almost ate food a d I'm on a clear liquid all liquid diet. Seriously I have to cook for my hubby and kids and almost stuck a piece of food in my mouth. Then I was like oh yeah I'm not supposed to eat. Every time I smell food of open the fridge I'm all like damn I wish I could eat that. It's mind over matter. I do however feel hungry a lot but I have been lucky because when I'm hungry it's time for my protien shake. I've been doing water mostly, vitimin water zero and that's about it. I had jello twice and chicken broth. I can't drink the broth heated it tastes to much chicken that is being boiled and plucked after you kill them. Eww. So I have stayed away from it for the most part. I thought that I would love it the most but it's the opposite for me. The jello was nice because it's close to solid food. I've been doing isopure and whey protien for shakes. I also have you tonics Collagen protien I have been drinking that for months. I hear collagen is good for skin. Hope it helps with sagging. I haven't been able to find sugar free Popsicles. The more that you stick to your protien the better I think. I'm allowed 3-4 shakes. I've been mixing with water not milk. It really has helped me with hunger. Try the jello also when your hungry because it's going to take some time to melt and maybe will satisfy you? Stay strong it's not easy but you can do it. I thought I'd be all weak eating under 800 calories but I have more energy than ever. Weird. ::hug:: you can get through it.

I was told by my dietician that I could have lettuce with lemon or any other vegetable with no calories in order to get bulk into my system and not feel hungry. This was 2 weeks pre-op. then she told me to stop all solid food 5 days before surgery. The 2 weeks pre-op was to shrink the liver and the 5 days pre-op was to clean my system. I followed those rules and I did fine. You might want to check with your dietician to see of you are able to add no calorie or low calorie stuff at this point as you are still so far away from your surgery date.

surgery date: 7/30/12

The pre op liquid diet is the worst but it gets you ready for what's going to happen after your surgery.

Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

I drank a lot of instant breakfast for my liquid diet. It seemed to hold me over, but now I can't stand the taste of it!

Same here getting tired of them. Doctor told me I could start eating Protein bars. Atkins makes good ones low in sugar, low carbs and taste good at least to me. Heading to GNC tomorrow to try Quest bars people on this Fourm love them I'm game

Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

only advice I have is to stay busy! i've never realized how much food is advertised until you don't have any! from pumping gas to watching TV, seems like it's all about food.

Are u guys mixing protein with milk or water?

My doctor told me to use water, however suggested flavored water, or using instant coffee ground, or other flavors like almond extract to change the flavor. I use crystal light juices as well
