New And Looking For Support

I am in the beginning stages, literally like I am just telling my dr I want to have the surgery. I have contacted my insurance and found out all the requirements. I also have contacted the Emory Bariatric center here in Atl and thus far I just need to have my medical clearance letter faxed to them. I have been procrastinating bc Im so scared, however reading the post on this forum and seeing all the support you guys show one another it definitely has me excited. I have the support of my mom who has lapband a few years ago and looks great and has maintained her weight loss. So I finally decided to register and join in conversation as I start my journey instead of looking from the sidelines.

No I did not use insulin befor surgery. The doctor wanted me on insulin but my job as a truck driver say no. I should say that I'm on no diabetic Med's right now and my sugars run from 120 - 180 depending on what I eat. Befor it was 230-300 with Med's.

Just wanted them to be lower and the doctors don't seem to be worried right now so maybe I shouldn't.

I use to take 14 Med's a day now I'm down to 2 a Vitamin and a acid reducer. So I should be happy Right

I would say if the docs are happy, relax a little...just keep an eye on it too.
