ChatChat thank you so much for your words of support! Please tell me how you did right after surgery. I spoke to my primary care doc yesterday and she mentioned the complications to me. ones I hadn't been told of yet and they kind of scared me,- New And Looking For Support
right now I am having issues with keeping my blood sugar up. I am excercising more eatting less and trying to adjust my insulin doses. I got down to 50 this morning after my water aerobics class. kind of didn't feel so good! LOL- New And Looking For Support
at my first appt I weighed 325. I weighed this morning and am now at 320. I believe using the fittness pal app is helping me see more clearly what I need to be eating.- New And Looking For Support
in most cases it depends on your insurance on how long the process is. I am required to meet with the diatician and excercise physiologist once a month for 6 mo. go through a psyc eval. after the 6 mo process my insurance will then approve or not approve me. I haven't been given a certain amount of wt that I have to loose before surgery however I am supposed to loose some. Yeah like I haven't tried that before!!!!!- New And Looking For Support
Hi there. I am hoping to have my surgery mid Dec. I have to wait 6 mo to fulfill insurance requirements. I am apprehensive about the surgery and after affects. I am 50 plus and have been overweight for many years. Have diabetes, HBP, just diagnosed with heart desease, have had spinal fusion and a bad leg. my back and leg make it hard to excersice. I have been doing water aerobics 2 hrs a day 5 days a week for a year and have only lost about 5 lbs!! I am now using an app called my fittness pal that tracks everything. I just started using it this week and I think it is going to help me a lot. I just need to talk to other pre and post surgery peeps to see how they are doing.- Half Way There
I am half way through my insurance process. Looking, hopefully at surgery mid December, Yep just in time for all the Christmas goodies! I am both excited and nervous. I have heard very good things and a few reports of death. That scares me but if I don't have the surgery I face death anyway. I am diabetic, have high BP, and have recently been diagnosed with stage 1 heart failure so I have to do it. I have children and grandchildren that I want to be around to enjoy for a very long time. I began water aerobics a year ago. 2 hrs a day 5 days a week and I have managed to loose a whold 5 pounds. I have a bad leg and have had back surgery, spinal fusion, so I am limited at my physical activities. The water allows me to do a great deal and I totally enjoy it! I would love to hear from post surgery patients about your experience. What you can and can't do as far as eating and your excerise routines. - New And Looking For Support
