EGD / colonoscopy - check

sleep study- check

Cardiology clearence- check

GI consult- check

Pre op education program - 1 class to go

Final doctor appointment

Final two dietician meetings

Official insurance clearence

Chest X-ray

EKG

Blood work

** these must be done within 30 days of surgery**

Appointment with IVC filter doctor

IVC filter placed 3 days before surgery

Pick up incentive spirometer and surgery bag

Welcome to all the new September members! It’s going to be a great month. I started my 2-week pre-op diet today in preparation for my surgery on September 10 @ 10am. I’m allowed three shakes and a healthy' date=' balanced meal (eaten at once or spread out during the day). I also kicked caffeine out of my life last week and only had a headache for one day. I’ve been doing a half regular and half decaf blend for 6+ months and it made it so MUCH easier to give it up completely. I still like the taste of coffee, so I had a mocha protein shake this morning. Delish! I already spoke with the anesthesia department and have my pre-op appointment/labs this Wednesday. I get only liquid diet, using water and powdered protein to mix and drink- I already miss FOOD! Fed my dog and he just seemed to grin at me while digging his face in the food

Yes, try the different protein mixes, I like the French vanilla, but the chocolate tasted like chalk. Don't forget the clear chicken or beef broth, Walmart has them cheap and they are tasty when you get hungry in afternoons

My pre-op diet cost 198.00! You betcha I'm doing it!

My surgery date is September 13, 2012

I got my referral for bariatric surgery from my pcp in early April 2012.

I went to the educational seminar on June 4th, 2012.

• June 27 - Met surgeon and had consult and bloodwork done
  
• June 28 - Stress Test and Echo
  
• June 29 - Psych Evaluation
  
• July 17 - First visit with dietician
  
• July 29 - First sleep study
  
• July 31 - Pulmonary Clearance
  
• Aug 14 - Attended bariatric surgery support group
  
• Aug 18 - Second sleep study (due to diagnosed sleep apnea from first study)
  
• Aug 22 - Second visit with dietician
  
• Aug 27 - Preop with surgeon and date set!

Well hope everyone had a great day. I have been busy and stressed. I track my food in myfitnesspal and have been low carb and under 2000 calories for weeks but I gained 5 lbs. shheeeeeeeeesh I need this surgery for just this reason. I was in the hospital and they took me off my diuretic maybe that's why I am a little bit swollen.

So maybe it's water weight in any case that's my story and I am sticking to it!
