I'm on my liquid diet day 3 with 6 to go and I'm already misserable, very very hungry and my thought process isn't very good. I WANT TO STOP. AND JUST SAY SCREW IT!!! what am I getting myself into??? And on top of that. I started my period after 2 yrs of not having one. IM ABSOLUTLEY FREAKING MISSERABLE. No pain meds r working I cry constantly. I feel like I can't do this ne more and it's only 3 days in. What am I gunna do after surgery?? Am I gunna feel this hungry and misserable?

Take it one step at a time, after surgery you will have the tool that will make all of this easier and worthwhile. Now you are just prepping to have a safe sugery. You can do this!

You sound like me !!!! I was in that same frame of mind on the liquid diet. You CAN do this and you know it !!! My theory on the period is just the stress you are under and the liquid diet. I hadn't had a period for 8 months and started the DAY BEFORE SURGERY !! And it lasted for almost 2 weeks !!! Anyway, I tell you this, I too was ready to say the hell with it but I didn't and I'm glad, you will be too!! You can do it !!

Don't give up. I'm right there with you on the liquid diet, having started today. I'm finding the television and internet images of food are very difficult to deal with. I keep trying to find other ways to distract myself--reading, writing, being on here, etc. But hang in there. Remember that this isn't the beginning! We've already been down a long runway to get to this point (doc visits, insurance, nutritionists, psych evals, etc) and this is just a short phase. We can do it! Stick with me.

Thanx. Im glad to kno someone is just starting lol. I'm sure ppl all over r just starting. Being on my period isn't helping the situation either. So I'm 2X cranky and moody and so very emotional. All I did today was cry. but I kno it will b worth it in the end

You can do this! After surgery it'll be easier, you'll feel full so much faster and not sure about everyone else, but for me my hunger alarm literally shut of the first 18months afters surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
