five days out..advice pls?

Recommended Posts

Hello im five days out almost from surgery. July 31 was my date I had vsg. I had a fever yesterday of 101. Took tylonel and got it down. I'm noticing a trend, my temp goes up after eating protien shakes, even different brands. Is thier a connection? Nurse said it was regular to get temps in the first week. Any advice?

I've sure never heard of that! Hmmmm, if it goes up... or if it stays... or if you get ANY pain, call them again. Fever could be a sign of a leak... not likely, but possible!

I never took my temperature, but the week after surgery, I felt like I was getting over a bad cold. The feeling went away by the 2nd week.

You can go to the er and tell them you want to be checked for a leak for your peace of mind.

They said low grade temp is normal..so phew

Yep.. And at nine months out, I still get feverish if I eat to much or too fast, so try slowing down?

I'm not sure that it happens to a lot of people..

Some slime, throw up, hiccup. I get feverish and hot flashes, I feel like I need to open a window,

Take off some clothing etc...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
