Avilla keep at it now because I looked at my chart that I keep for weight loss and I only lost about 32 pounds for the year of 06. That is crazy but true. I am a year and a half out and I have lost 87 pounds. I don't want to complain but it could have been faster if I just simply exercised everyday. Just do something everyday.

Dont know what your talking about sgt!!! I have been working out 30-35 minutes almost everyday on my gazelle...Im doing good!!! Wait till you see my weight I put in on my signature line for January on Sunday morning...I am going to be happy with this months loss

As far as some measurments...The only thing that I have been keeping track of in the past is my waist so far....I started out at a 50-51 inch waist and am now at a good 42 inches!!!

Today is going to be a strange day for me...It seems that my 11 year old son decided to take after his mother with the weight stuff...He was diagnosed around Christmas with border line diabetes and today I am picking him up early from school for his first appointment with his endocronologist (spelling?, diabetic specialist)...His life may change forever after todays appointment...They actually have an in house nutritionist, so I am really interested to see what he has to say for myself too!

Avilla I was talking about me not you. I hope your son does not have diabetes and if he has weight issues I know that you will take him on your journey to lose it together. Pizza night sounds like it may come biweekly instead of weekly. No more sodas in the house. My daughter has weight issues also so I can't keep certain things in the house.

Oh Ok, I thought you were trying to get me pumped up to do something...lol...The pizza night is biweekly...Its every other Thursday night before payday...He would live on pizza if I let him...He has drank the diet caffine free dr peppers for the last few years...We had problems with him sleeping at night when he did drink the regular ones so his dr had us switch over...I have tried putting him on diet, but it is just so hard to do that to a kid...I went for about a month just serving him a meat and vegetable and he always asked "wheres the 3rd thing?"...He always called the startchy stuff like potatoes and mac & cheese the 3rd things..lol...He thought his world had come to an end when he didnt have them on his plate...I blame myself for it due to not teaching him the proper way to eat when he was younger, we could have prevented all of this and maybe I wouldnt have gained all my weight either...But such is life, its all a learning experience...I am just thankful that he is just borderline and that it can probably be taken care of just by his diet instead of injections...Well, I guess I dont know all of that for sure yet, but that is what I am guessing...Will learn more at the dr today

I do understand and as parents we always blame ourselves. My child does not get enough exercise or just movement. At her age they just want to move in slow motion so I get her up and out with me on the weekends fussing or not. Last Sunday she was dragging and sitting in the bathroom hoping I would leave her so I did. I went around the block and when I came back she had something in the microwave. I made her go get dressed. 15 to 25 minutes into our exercise she always loosens up so that must be when her endorphines are kicking in.

Don't stress you know what to do. I was actually thinking about putting my dear child in a martial arts class.

Morning all...

Well it's my TOM so I've felt like crap the last couple days....napping and cramping...I've been getting all my water in...didn't eat a ton yesterday...just feeling ick!

I'm going to take my measurements on Monday morning when I do my weigh in so that it kind of all goes together. We aren't submitting our measurements every week are we?

Anyhoo....have a good day all....

HAPPY BAND DAY BANDIDA!!

Time2live I'm so sorry as I have gotten older PMS has gotten worst for me and I use to never have cramps but I do on the first day now.

We only need to do measurements now, end of Februay and the last day of bootcamp.

We do need to start giving a weekly weigh in. I know everyone does not have a scale at home. I weigh on Tuesdays so I will give last weeks numbers.

Feel better it will be over soon.

Thats really a good idea...My son was in karate for about 3 years...Earned his way up to a brown/red belt before he got burned out...But it is great for their bodys and minds...We just had him going way too much, he had his usual 2 classes a week, plus his gymnastics, plus his sparring, plus his demo team, plus his private class and then at his stage he had to go in and assist teaching a younger class twice a week which they made him do to earn some credits for his black belt...Its really a commitment that they have to stick to...He really loved it before he got to be a higher rank and had to go so much...But he was alot healthier when he was going...Well off for the shower so I can pick him up for the dr...Hey, one more thought...My sons karate teacher also had adult kick boxing classes for adultes too, just something to think about!!!

Sorry, I have not posted lately. I have been trying to get things done with bill's and such. My husband signed up for direct deposit at our bank and lets just say it never happened and now they(his work) has to re issue a check that we will not get till next week! I am so frustrated.

Ok, we just got in from my sons first diabetic appointment with his dr...He said he is insulin resistant..Basically that he needed to cut out breads and startches to try to get it under control...He did tell me something that I didnt know, that we should never go for anything that says "fat free or low fat" due to them being very high in sugars...And he also told me (this I dont know if I believe or not) that since my son was around 8 lbs when he was born that I must have had some type of gestinal diabetes at the time of birth and past it on to him...Also that hispanics are very high candidates for this type of diabetes...So, he got half of it from his dad with him being hispanic and half from me since I was probably as he says diabetic at the time..Poor thing didnt have a chance from the get go..As far as getting in to see the nutritionist that was a no go...She is out of network on my insurance and it costs too much to get in to see her without the benifits...So we are doing the diet thing for him for a month and go back to see if his insulin level is in check...

As for my check in for today:

8 ounces of whey protein (breakfast)

protein bar (snack)

handfull of popcorn chicken on the way to the dr (lunch)

chicken club salad with lite ranch (planned dinner)

40 ounces of peach tea

20 ounces of green tea with honey and lemon

35 minutes on the gazelle for my workout for the day

This is too funny and I just wanted to share it with yall

This probably just worked because my child is weird...(in a great way) but we (really she) got rid of the soda like this: She went to the dentist and the dentist told her that soda is like acid and rots her teeth, he even gave her a list of soda and how much acid they have in them. She has not touched a soda since except for 1 time at the movies and she chose sprite because it is less acidic than the others. I don't know if info like that would help him but maybe.. Now if I can just get her to kick her chicken nugget habit.
