Honestly, how much do you vomit?

Just curious, as vets of the sleeve, how much do you REALLY vomit? I'm almost 4 yrs post op band (getting revised in 5 days!) and for the first 2 1/2 yrs, I vomited frequently (maybe 3-6x a week). I ate too fast. I'm gunna try to not throw up at all with the sleeve (so paranoid about a leak on my staple line), but I'm wondering: Is there some throwing up with the sleeve (especially the first 6 mths) or can that be totally avoided by eating slowly?

Vomiting hasn't bothered me at all since being banded. It became a normal part of my day. I don't want it to become normal with the sleeve, but I also need to know IF it does happen, is it just food, as in the band barfing? Or is it stomach acid also (since it's actually coming from my stomach vs my esophagus with the band).

I'm probly worried about nuthin. I'm just a little worried...

Im a firm believer that in order to vomit with the sleeve you're doing something wrong. Learn the no's of your particular sleeve and the vomiting should not happen. Sometimes it's a hit and miss unti

  • Wow fiddle you got it coming out of both ends!

Never.

I am 6 weeks out and I never have. Hope this helps :-)

I vomited once in 4 months at 3 months out and I had eaten bad food.

It is not like with the band. Not addicted frequently. I used to throw up a couple times a day with my band. Only twice since I was sleeved but it is vomit not just food.

"vomiting" (or PB'ing as bander call it - Productive Burp) is not painful with the band at all. All it is is food stuck in my esophagus. No stomach acid cuz it's not coming from the stomach. Just thought I'd let you know what barfing with the band is like!

I'm sure it made your day!

I am almost 11 months post op and have never vomited!!

As a sleeve patient, I only threw up twice, and it was because of the bariatiric vitamins I got from the Dr's office, I stopped taking them and I switched to CENTRUM CHEWABLE'S, and that stopped that!!!! If you throw up after you eat, it is most obvious YOU ATE TOO MUCH! and didn't chew enough

Last Saturday for 1 good hour. And it was awful

And painful. I had the stomach flu. I'm 4.5 months. Different after Surgery. Something to avoid if possible.

It'll be 7 weeks in 4 days, haven't vomited since surgery. Have wanted to after eating too much a few times, but haven't.

2 months out 7/15. Have not thrown up yet.(knock on wood)

OMG - you poor thing!!!! I haven't thrown up 3x's in the past three years. I hope you'll do much better with the sleeve!!!! Good luck!

I bet I've thrown up less than 10 times in the last year. Three of those were from eating bad fish... not from overeating.

I have only vomited 1 time and that's really recent. I ate too much and I had taken a Tylenol with cod. Between the two, I got really sick and had a dumping episode.

I had slimies (foamie liquid) a few times when I first started solids before I quit trying to eat too much. Since then I have not vomited once in over two years.
