Hello August Sleevers, I had my surgery 8/20/2013. I was curious If anyone else has experienced really bad stomach spasms? It seems like they start when I drink sometimes. Also I'm not able to tolerate the protein shakes like I could preop, anyone else having this problem and If so what have you done that's helped?

I am so ready for Tuesday.. My bag for the hospital is for the most part packed' date=' fridge and freezer is full for the kids while I'm in the hospital, and letters wrote to everyone just in case something happens.. I don't think I'm forgetting anything.. I know I'm doing the right thing for me but part of me wonders what my kids are gonna do if something happens to me..they are only 8 & 6[/quote']

Hello, I was also sleeved on this past Tuesday, how are you tolerating the procedure?

I was prescribed Levsin for spasms/cramping. Works wonders!

Thanks' date=' I am just going to speak with the nursing staff to see what I should do.....when I had to do my pre op I was never hungry cause I was able to do shakes and soup, and protein juice drinks...but now I am just doing clear liquids and although I add protein I am still starving....thought maybe it was acid been popping gas x strips not doing the trick so IMA just speak to the staff cause this can't go on....did I mention my family has not been a big help the day I came home from the hospital my husband got Chinese on the way home... The next day my mom came to visit and because she knows I am the main Cook in the house she brought some food so my family could have like chicken salad, to bags of powdered donuts, crispy creams, a whole homemade pineapple upside down cake from scratch, and yesterday they had pizza and bread sticks...let's just say TODAY I am starting to get aggravated.... We will have to have a talk later on....[/quote']

Ahh hun that must have been tough seeing all that food, sometimes ppl can be so insensitive, on my pre op my own mother thought it was funny to tell me they were all having roasted chicken with all the trimmings while I was starving on my milk and yoghurt!! Wont repeat what I wanted to say to her lol, when I went to a meeting before the op they explained, some ppl will find it hard to deal with the change we are making, they said you will lose friends, some will try and sabbotage your efforts, relationships can change.

i, d just have a chat and tell them how important it is to you that you have thier full support. And when they see you losing the weight and looking fantastic they may even ditch the Chinese in favour of some healthy food with you, you never know;-) good luck hun x

I have had bad cramping every time I eat or drink too. I also can not drink my protein shake either anymore. I had my surgery on the 15th.

Any suggestions on what to pack in my over night bag? :)

A pillow for your ride home after the op, place it across your stomach the car journey is rough on your stomach it helps alot.

Thanks for updates, I seem to pas gas and belch pretty good. It's like I woke a lion...it usually seems to be my protein more than anything. It's the most uncomfortable part of my post op

I just got a post response from Sleever who got Levsin from his MD and it really helped his cramps and spasms... I can't wait until my f/u appt on Tuesday maybe this will help us both :-) praying

You are awesome!!!! I'm asking my doctor Tuesday for my 1 week f/u appt.... Thank you bunches!!!!! :-)

I had surgery August 16. Everything went great and I feel great!

my surgery is August 29th... On 1 week liquid now... Fun times! Lol... My nutritionist said it was ok to add a little bit of extract for flavoring the protein... I had a vanilla protein shake w a lil banana extract and it kinda tasted like banana cream pie... Ha.

I have a question for the sleevers who are 3 weeks out or more. I really want to go to a football game but its only 3 weeks after my sleeve date. Do you guys think I'll be ok to go? How did you feel at 3 weeks?

Everyone's different but I feel great! You should be fine! I was sleeved aug 1st

Well surgery was 25 days ago today! Wow already....I tried to eat a little price of hamburger dipped in ketchup today....a few cheese puffs....and watermelon....everything was great even though I knew maybe u shouldn't be eating this already! But it was a BBQ so I figured a quarter size amount would not kill me! Big mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was SO sick alllllllll day! Not ready for this yet I don't think! But close!
