    August Sleevers?

I was sleeved the same day!!! I'm still not feeling actual hunger... More like the weakness and gnawing acid feeling when I need to eat... But YES... Craving and all that WAY more when the monthly evil time came around!!! I noticed my cals were up a little and I had to eat more often .. Still with salt and sweet cravings... Grrr... But it passed and back to normal now... Lol... Don't let it mess with ya girl!!! It will pass in a day or so and u will likely not want as much to ingest...

  3. This is all SO true!!! I am on soft foods now... And went to a baby shower last eve... They had chicken chili... Avacado...cheese ...olives bread butter ...wine etc... I LOVE chicken chili... Usually I would have scarfed down a big ol bowl and pondered if I had enough cals for the day for more... I asked my coworker hosting it if I could use a coffee cup to better gauge portion... They all know I had surgery and are totally supportive!! I couldn't even FINISH my lil' portion.. Had one olive skin removed.. 2 lil bites of cheese and avacado.. And a tiny peice the crusty part of the baked French bread and was stuffed. I didn't find myself thinking more about the food because i couldn't even finish my little bit! They giggled when I pulled out my baby spoon to eat too yes... There are challenges... But in so many ways.. I think this tool is going to make life better. No more obsessing over food like I used to. Still enjoy things but in such moderation it's great! I bought myself tiny spice bowls and some fruit bowls to help my eyes adjust. And that small coffee cup was maybe 1/4 to 1/3 full and that mostly the broth... Soooo wierd! But awesome!
  4. Hi hope.... Trully hope you are doing better!!! I have even adding benefiber ( well, actually the cheaper Walmart brand lol! ) to my foods and even Water.... I'm on soft foods too and can tell I definatally need the Fiber not being able to eat raw veggies etc. yet... cheese especially can keep things feeling like a rock in the belly for me... But I love it and its good Protein so adding the benefiber really helps! You can add it into water too as its dissolves and no taste... As to the gas... Have u tried GasX strips? Those helped me SO much! For the feeling in the lungs... Are your legs swollen .. wierd pain or hot or anything like that? I would think its likely NOT this... But better safe then sorry..my sister had blood clots a few years ago at only 24 and so it came to mind .... I am NOT a nurse or anything and totally don't want to freak out... But just thought I would just mention it so you could ask the nurse if you wanted to if things continue!! They told her it was pneumonia at first and she had pulmonary embolisms really bad... Some of what you said with your lungs reminded me a LITTLE of what she said so I just thought I would mention it so you could at least ask the nurse on line if you are still having problems!!!! Also did they have u you an incentive spirometer in the hospital to get deep breaths in? They toss them so I asked and took mine home... Even a few days after being home I breathed into it to keep my lungs strong!!!

    August Sleevers?

I was stalled for a few days too... It was RIGHT at the number that has haunted me for months... I had lost over 90lbs on my own starting 4 yrs ago... The past 25 months the lowest I could get was 245... I would bounce up and down between there and about 260 no matter WHAT I tried or how much I worked out. I was 255 day of surgery 8/29.... And then stuck at 245... My number of doom.... I also started back to work full time this week and started purée Tuesday night with the ok from my Dr. ..... Today I am FINALLY past that number!!!! 243!!!! Keep working the process... It will catch up! I also track my cals and Proteins on myfitnesspal.... Dr. Didn't give a calorie goal... Just Protein and Water... The days I've hit 900 cals I've lost the following day... Those days I stalled I was lower ..... If you are stalled maybe try looking at any cal/protein/water trends?

    Shakeology - anyone?

The tropical is really yummy I was drinking it for a few months awhile back... havnt had it post surgery though.... I have a freind who swears by the vanilla..she said it is a lil' more versatile as you can add other flavors! If I recall there is a * bottom of the bag guarantee* so i would go for it if it appeals to you... i did also try greenberry and wasn't especially keen on the flavor but had it with only water....

    12 days post

My surgery was 8/29 so about the same! Just got the ok from the office to add purreed as I can't stomach the sweet shakes anymore... ( pea Protein btw is a GREAT help... added it to one of the strained cream Soups, and will be adding it into soups and other pureed things to keep up my protein intake...14 grams protein, 70 cals per serving did you need to puree the grits more? I actually love grits, would prefer that over cream of wheat..lol.

    Vegetarians?

Have you tried unflavored pea protein powder? I was drinking it for awhile with fresh veggie and fruit juices... It could be added into any cream soups etc too if you are still at that stage... Is it the overly sweet taste of the protein drinks or the milk in them? If its the milk not the sweetness... Eas has a soy chocolate at Walmart that's very good and mixes with water
  16. I think that you could do just as well with just regular Protein powder mixed with Water etc... Probably cheaper overall and tastes better? i havnt tried the protein shots u mentioned but have looked at them and just decided regular Protein Powder made more sense for me... some ideas to help with protein intake...Greek yogurt has a lot of protein... Some as high as 13 grams or so... cheese sticks are usually 8 grams... Quinoa instead of rice if your lil sleeve can handle it well has more protein... And Walmart has body fortress whey protein.. I think it's 170 cals for 30 grams of protein I'm still in the liquid stage ... Only a week out... And mixed it with some milk, and an orange sugar free drink packet and it tasted like a creamsicle... There is also unflavored pea protein you can get online and add into Soup etc.. I also have made baked homemade protein crackers from thatin the past with some pea protein, sunflower seeds, pepitas and a bit of the dry hummus mix from whole foods bulk area.. . Before I decided on the sleeve I had lost over 90lbs on my own and then was stuck the past 25 months in neutral. One of the things I tried was high protein low carb so I found a lot of ways to get additional Proteins into things... Find ways to sneak it into things you like. The pea protein does thicken Soups and such a bit tho too as a warning... That can be good or bad depending what you are making. Lol

This is my PRE-Surgery Weight Loss. I started at a high of 337 on the left about 4 years ago. The pic on the right is from 5/2013.... I have bounced back and forth the same 15 lbs for over 25 months, leading to my decision for my sleeve....

    September here I come!

@jessicaanders29 I just had my surgery with Dr. Bettendorf this past Thursday 8/29.... He is awesome very compassionate and thorough ... you are in good hands!
  21. Today has been the best day yet since surgery 8/29 went for a short walk this morn, a walk around the grocery story with my best friend to help her ( which oddly barely bothered me at all!!) And then a 40 min walk back and forth on my street.. . Able to extend the time between pain meds from the 4-6 hours on the bottle to about 7-9 hours between. Got in two full Protein shakes, a Popsicle, 8 oz of strained out cream of chicken mushroom Soup which was yummy and soothing.. And an additional 24 oz of Water.... Getting a bit more hydration each day less gas pressure and the milk in the cream soup and the Protein Shakes really seemed to lesson the acid reflux thing... That's been the worst part for me... The pressure thing and the acid reflux... Never had a problem with either before surgery... Otherwise I actually feel pretty *normal* ... Had to remind myself to not dance around the house so much...Lol! How's everyone else from last week feeling???
  22. Just went home today!!!! Sitting in my bed..ahhhhh. Day is surgery felt pretty good... Yesterday however felt like a Mack ruck rolled me over!!! Like mocha said... Gas issues... I kept burping but nothing from the other end and had TERRIBLE pressure with every teeny sip of water etc. think I maybe got in 2 or 3 oz total a few sips of broth and two spoonfuls of jello. This morning they were considering keeping me another day. Mocha, I tried that too... Lots of walking... Nada. Last night I slept nearly completely upright hugging my pillow .... Uncomfortable but not as much a the gas issue. Finally things started moving properly I think it was in a large part due to that. I also rubbed my low back kinda like you do with a baby trying to get it to burp and that oddly also helped. Best of luck to you my sleevesista!!!! Today I've gotten much more hydration in... An entire Popsicle... About 4 oz water at the hospital , my liquid meds, 1/3rd so far of a sugar free done flavored water bottle... And a few sips of a protein drink.... So getting closer to the initial goal of 40 0z
  23. Lol... Well I was blessed with my evil time of month right during surgery so they had no choice!! Lol ???? for once j was grateful... At least made my time stuck in they infernal gown more tolerable. Rotfl
