Breakky dumps! ????????????

First of all, apologies for the terrible title but its necessary!

I just wanted to know if anyone else dumped after breakky? It seems it doesn't matter what I have for Breakfast I always dump. Does anyone know why or how to fix it? It's really impacting my med intake too because I feel so ill that if I do take my tablets I more often than not vomit. Every other meal is going fine it's just in the morning.

Please help!

The same thing happens to me if I have dairy. Yes it is called dumping. There is a syndrome called dumping sydrome. It can happen if you eat sweets or fried food.

Yesterday I didn't go at all. Blessed relief. This morning I had a soft but formed (sorry) movement and I was pretty excited. This afternoon I had something that was basically just liquid. So it may be starting to get better but not quite there yet.

I'm sorry for the TMI but it is what it is.

Hahaha mistysj! I totally understand. Mine is the same. Soft then liquid then that continues!!

Sometimes I don't know what crawled up there and died!

Lol! Don't get me started. And it's scary when you have to go at work too with other people around!!!!

It is getting better for me. About 50/50. Anyone else? Tomorrow will be my 6th weigh in and the start of my 7th week.

That's great news. Yeah I think mine is too. Thank goodness!

I'm almost 7 months out, and still have daily diarrhea.

Wow. :( What does your doctor say?

It only happens in the morning, and usually only once. I actually have never brought it up-I had my gallbladder removed about 5 years ago and haven't had a normal bowel movement since.

I had my gallbladder out years ago too, but I've only had the issues with diarrhea since being sleeved. I'm used to it by now (5 & 1/2 weeks post-op); the only time I really mind is when it happens at work. We don't have private bathrooms and it can be.....embarrassing. I've been known to run from one to the other looking for a completely empty restroom! Sadly I have even learned what the least populated times are and I try to time my snacks/lunch around that just in case. I figure it's a small price to pay :)

Get some SUGAR FREE METAMUCIL..... start with a teaspoon a day in your yogurt, or water, but you will have to drink as fast as you can..... yogurt is better, it will BIND the runs...... so it is not so watery, if watery is a word.......... good luck to all of you,,,,,, been there on the ROCK side, and it is MISERABLE too!.

I had the same problem for a few weeks post op. The biggest change that I made was to eat really small amounts for the first few hours of the day. The other meals went well.

Today, I had a major episode, the first nasty one ever. I had a bit of tuna salad that I made with light mayo. About 15 minutes later, I was crampy and had to go. About 10 minutes after that, I felt incredibly ill. Went, sat, emptied. Immediately hot, sweat pouring down my face, hair soaked. I think I even passed out for a few minutes. Woke up, very weak, and drenched. Moved back to the living room and slept for 2 hours. Scary! 4 hours later, I feel great again. I do not want to ever go through that again.

My new dietitian thinks I am eating too much fat and dumping. She asked me to try to stick to 5 grams of fat or less per meal. She gave me a few other suggestions but said to try that first. I will let you know how it goes. And yes it is still going on 8 weeks out.

I have the opposite issue!! Sleeved 5/28 and if I don't take a laxative everyday I don't go. Stimulant ones gave me terrible diarrhoea last week so I'm back to the glycerin suppositories. Other than the runs last week I have only been 4 times in 5 weeks. Going to have to talk to gp about it. I'm getting in loads of liquids and taking fibre supplements but still can't go without extra help. :(
