Prilosec/Nexium question...

Another rookie issue... I'm 5 days post op and doc prescribed Nexium to be dissolved in Water. It doesn't dissolve!!! It's a grainy mess that ends up all over the cup, takes forever to attempt to get it all down without leaving most of the medication in the glass.

So, how do you take your antacid???

Thanks!

Mine is a capsule but I have another pill I take that is a tablet no problem. I don't take them at the same time though.

I take my one med and various vitamins whole with no issues. I take with warm liquid and I am sure that helps

Take Prilosec OTC since one week post op with no problems. Pill Is fairly small and tastes fruity.

I've swallowed my pills from day one. Some can and some can't. I have a easier time with pills than having to drink meds in a bunch of water.

Thanks, totally agree. The amount of water it takes to get it all down is a nightmare. Might try taking it whole tomorrow. Which form do you take? Capsule, tablet?

I had no problem with my Nexium right from day 1...

I take the same Nexium and it is hard. Try mixing in protien shake.

open the capsule...dump it in my mouth and swallow with liquid...or put on a spoonful of applesauce or yogurt and consume.

I take it just like I used to. It goes down fine. I also take cymbalta which is bigger. I lay all my pills out and space them out 5 minutes apart.
