  1. I was sleeved the same day. I am a slow loser too. But I am down 29 lbs. I get frustrated but when was the last time any of us lost weight? It will only get better. I have found that the more I move the more I lose. Log every bite into my fitness pal or a program like it. Get a pedometer and get 10000 steps a day. That is the only thing that helps me lose.
  2. Musiclover and shelprice I was sleeved May 22 and have been stuck at 27 lbs since the 3rd week. I am upping my activity. Not sure what is going on.
  3. Ok calling all May 22nd sleeves. I am going on 7 weeks and have only lost 27 lbs. And that is the lowest weight. I go between 183 and 186. I started at 210. I need some encouragement. I eat right. I drink my fluid. I am moving more by using a fit bit and taking more steps. I don't actually exercise. I get my water and TRY to get my protein. No breads, no sweets, no high fat foods. I keep my calories between 800 and 1000 a day. I am 5 ft 1 in. I don't have a robust program. No NUT. They never measured me before surgery. When I go see my Doc they don't even weigh me. There are no support groups. You guys are my life line HELP!! I am however down from wearing 2x scrubs to work to 1 x.

  5. I buy those rotisserie chickens from HEB and eat the white meat without the skin. They are so moist and tender. Dry chicken just balls up and makes me hurt. Also had some that was slow smoked and it was juicy. I used to soak my chicken in buttermilk overnight before I fried it. I was thinking about doing that and then wrapping it in foil and baking. Maybe I can find some sort of stuff to coat it in that is healthy.
  6. When were you sleeved? I have had a bad tummy my whole life. Lots of abdominal pain and diarrhea. Since this surgery I have had more of a normal tummy. Maybe because I am not eating much fat. Also I had my gallbladder out at the time of surgery. I think you should ask your Doc about this. Good luck.
  7. I am sorry but if I were in New Orleans I am not sure I could do this. We usually come there every 3 months but I have been staying away. The fact I can't eat an oyster loaf at casamentos is killing me LOL.
  8. Good job. I was sleeved May 22 as well. 210 to start. 196 day of surgery. 183 today. It seems slow but at least it is coming off. I have to be honest though. It is harder than I thought. I have to make myself make good choices. Old habits die hard. Glad to have all of you to talk to.
  9. I was sleeved May 22 nd. Two of my incisions have stitches sticking out. I want to swim but am worried about the wicking effect.
  10. I am now almost 6 weeks out and I am still weighing every time I pp. every time I poop. When I take my mascara off. Before my shower. After my shower. In the middle of the night. My scale loss has been so slow but everyone is commenting and my clothes are too big. I just keep thinking I will get on there and wham 10 lbs gone.
  11. I was sleeved 5.22. I started out at 210. I am 5"1". My surgery day weight was 196. Now I am at 185 one day 187 the next, 185 the next. That has been the way it has been the whole time. So I guess a total of 26 lbs. It has been much slower than I thought. I do get my water and protein in. I am eating the right foods although I think I started on solids a little sooner than I should have. I have never had any trouble eating. I am having that "full" feeling and I stop when I get there. I am so fearful of that over full feeling people talk about. At first I was not eating enough calories so I try to get at least 800-1000 each day. I don't like how slow it is going but I know in the end I will eventually lose the weight.
  12. I was sleeved May 22. I have lost 26 lbs. once I started getting my protein and water and increased my calories to 800-1000 I lost weight. If I eat breads or go over 1000 cal I will gain. It's such a fine line. This journey certainly does not resemble anything I was told prior to the surgery. But I am glad I did it. I know that in time I will lose the weight. I will not give up.
