My incisions have basically healed, but still have these little pieces of fishing line poking out. Will they eventually go away on their own?

My surgeon said it could take mine 2 or 3 weeks to disolve, so I wouldn't worry about it!

Mine didn't dissolve. Four of my incisions got red, began to ooze purulent drainage. After a week or two, those sutures came out.

At some point you will be able to give a little pull and these stitches will just come out.

Apparently the sutures can try to wiggle out on their own. Who knew?! I only had one with this hard little thing poking out (fishing line sums it up nicely!) a bit but it seems to be gone now.

My doctor said the fishing line type sutures to not pull those, that is holding together the incision on the inside, he said that I could hold the skin taught and have my husband clip them flush with a pair of scissors if it was bothering me. So far I have had no issues, but am only a week and a half out.
