Post op blood work

How soon did y'all have the first blood work to check for anemia and vitamins after sugery? I am just over two months out and from what I understand (I could understand wrong though) my surgeon doesn't do blood work for a year. Just wondering if at some point in this year I should have my primary provider do some blood work. I'm really curious as to how things look on the inside!

My surgeon hasn't mentioned doing blood work, but my PCP said he wanted to see me "a couple of months after surgery". I'm going to see him about 2 1/2 months after surgery and request my blood work to be done (if he doesn't order it himself). If you want to know what's going on, just call and ask the MD to write the order, they wouldn't likely say no to that request. :)

Good luck, hope your insides are good!

3 months post op for me and glad i had it done because i am anemic and vitamins B1,A and D were also very low. After a round of 3 - weekly vitamin B1 shots and lots of vitamins i am due to get my blood work done again this week. I will probably go in saturday morning to get my blood drawn.

I think it was 2 months post-op.

4 months post op and I was low in iron. I am getting the iron checked in 2 months. Full blood work again not until 1 yr post op.
