Stomach noises?

Hey!

I have a bit of a weird question, how big of an issue are stomach noises post-op? I have read on these forums that this happens many and am a bit concerned because I have quite a bit of schooling left (6 years) where I have to sit in quiet class rooms. Mainly, how long does the growling last after surgery? Thanks!

I had none of that until after 6 months out so can't help with the question. Sorry!!

I'm 1 week post op and I mainly have the noises when I'm drinking/eating so far.

Surgery date, of 5/17/13, and my stomach growls all the time as well. When I wake up, am laying down, when I am walking around. It has nothing to do with the eating or drinking. I'm having what sounds like the same things you are having. I don't know how long it lasts. This Friday will be 2 weeks post-op for me. You?

Hey I actually haven't been sleeved yet! I am still pre-op, however this is an area of concern for me as it would have a great impact on my life. I hope it stops for you soon, congrats on 2 weeks!

i am 7 months out and it still happens.. It gurgles and rumble and growls but not consistently.. The only time it bothers me is when I am in a meeting and it starts up.. It has no problem making it self heard HAHAHA! I either ignore it or if appropriate try to say something funny.. Everyone at works knows I had surgery so I have prewarned them as well.. It is what it is and I am just so glad I am losing weight..

I'm almost 8 months out and it mine still rumbles and gurgles...just not as much as when I was first post-op.

I guess this is the norm, is there anything that can be done about it, I can see this being a problem for me:(

Do they ever stop? I wonder if anyone 1 or 2 years post-op can shed some light??

Rejoice! They do stop and you won't even notice when they did. Mine stopped by 2-3 month out. But they can be embarrassing. Just keep taking your med and eat.

I am 11 weeks out . . . still have all the funny noises, burping, etc....I think it is my new normal, but everybody is different. Best of luck to you!
