What is this hurting?

I was 4 weeks post surgery this last Thursday. Yesterday evening I starting hurting right below my breast bone. You know that part where your ribs come up between your boobs? Lol....It almost feels like something is pulled, but I haven't done anything to pull a muscle. Anyone ever feel this? I haven't hurt anywhere since surgery, so this has kind of thrown me for a loop. I guess I just want to know it's nothing to worry about. Thanks in advance.....

I HAVE THAT SAMEEEE EXACT FEELING. MY DR TOLD ME TODAY THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE HERNIA THEY REMOVED. IM LIKE STUCKKKK ONCE THE SHOOTING PAIN STARTS.

  • I told my husband today that it feels like someone punched me in the stomach. Just started today..day 15. Very uncomfortable.

A lot off us had a pain at the bottom of the ribcage anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks out, its from the internal sutures healing and stretching..

This could be it.

Thanks Laura! I hope that's what it is,and nothing serious. Lol.....

:) if you are feeling it especially with movement and there is no fever or worsening of pain you hopefully will be good !!

I had a pain like that on my side for a few weeks after surgery, I called my doctor and he had me come in. After the exam was done he said it doesn't seem like anything serious probably just healing pains, he made an appt for me for three weeks later by then it was gone. I'm doing great now, never knew what it was but it went away eventually.

Thanks everyone! I am not going to worry about it unless it gets worse. I guess it is just part of the healing process.

Iam 7 days out most pains went away except I have a pain on my left side when I breathe in. It's not a Sharp pain but feels sore when I breathe in.i think it's just healing pains, iam getting more than enough fluids an protein, already lost 27 lbs.

I am 11 days out and yesterday I was feeling great walking normally getting up and down easily and now today I get a stretching feeling and sharp stabbing pains in my left side from the left of my belly button up to my rib cage. It only hurts when I am moving. Which isn't very much today because its so painful.
