When Did You Begin Taking Vitamins Post-Op?

Recommended Posts

The information packet I received from my surgeon's office says to use the Bariatric Advantage crystals in Protein Shakes three times each day as soon as I'm discharged from the hospital. Then, on another page it says I can begin taking a chewable Multivitamin a week after my surgery. I'd rather wait 'til a week after to take a chewable. The crystals don't sound desirable at all.

Hi Khloe. I was sleeved on March 4th and I started taking chewable Multivitamins the day after I was released from the hospital. I got the kids chewable Flintstones with Iron. I take one in the morning and one at night. Hope that helps.

I started taking my Vitamins in the hospital (the nurse gave them to me) and I continued once I got home.

Is having your abdomen cut open in multiple places desirable? A lot of what we have to go through pre and post op isn't desirable, but they're things we have to suck up and deal with. Having to add Vitamin crystals to your Protein Drinks for a few days will be the least of your worries, so I wouldn't waste time obsessing over it. It'll be over and done with before you know it and then you can complain about how bad the chewables taste :D

My surgeon wants us to wait at least 2 weeks- and do a chewable. Honestly it's up to you, you'll be ok if you don't have a Vitamin for a few days!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
