Psych Evaluation today.....don't know what to think?

Wow....my evaluation was 3 hours today!!!! I had to draw pictures, repeat words, take a 334 question T/F test, 22 question test on binge eating....I am wiped out!!!!!!

I will be getting a call by Friday with results. After all that I really hope I pass!

Has anyone ever cried during the evaluation??? I DID!!!! :( I hope it doesn't count against me...nothing to do with the surgery just over a traumatic experience....

I didn't cry, but they shaved my crotch, or maybe I just fell for it. It was all very technical, something about hating my mother and I needed a "freeing" experience.

And they required a prostate exam, but I swear I felt 2 hands on my shoulders at one point! :o

Wow that's quite a long process they put you through I just had to meet with this weird man for an hour at the end he told me I have lead an

Me too... I didn't cry because I'm scared of the procedure but a rather traumatic experience that occurred...fingers crossed thank you :)

That was *way* more intense than mine. At the end of mine, I was told that I was well adjusted but that I should be tested for ADD :P

I had the same process, I too cried and I passed. If they are affiliated with the surgeons office you will pass unless there is something really off psychologically like hurting yourself or others, etc.

I cried too over an unrelated thing.. he understood.. cuz I had recently lost my mom .. but I passed and the eval was really good for me.. I only had to meet with him for an hour and that was all..

Definitely don't think I answered anything that would trigger any concern but drawing pictures and remembering a series of words....well I guess it's hard to tell based on drawings and my memory...

Clearly I picked the wrong psych to go to....the surgeons list of psychologists were not in my insurance network.. I should have paid cash... Well we'll see what happens... I still have a month to see another one if I have to...if the surgeon will let me!!

Wow, my psych test was 10 questions! And the min reason why I wanted to get the surgery, that's insane!

I had the same process. I basically had the same reaction as you, also relating to my childhood issues with my mother and now her recent diagnosis with cancer. So, yeah, I understand. And I passed the psych eval with flying colors. Knowing what your problems are and making the effort to fix them never count against you.

Mine was also intensive. I also cried during the interview portion and it was fine. They are just trying to make sure you are crazy enough for it to interfere with your compliance afterward or to not understand what you are undertaking. They don't expect perfection.

I am diagnosed with obsessive compulsive personality disorder and general anxiety disorder and I am fine. The ocpd probably actually helps with my compliance bc it makes me a very black and white rule following type of person.

OMG. I CRIES MY EYES out ! I was approved. So no worries I'm sure you will be fine.

:)

I wait, I have to add. I had about 3

Different true and false test and she sat there and looked at the answers. After a few moments I was diagnosed with being a "PUSH OVER" and

Was told that she would recommend I see a

Therapist to sharpen my skills on how

Not to allow ppl get over on me. Pretty weird huh! Lol

Mine was a 10 minute conversation with the guy. Easy peasy
