Missing Food

I got sleeved 4 days ago & I really miss food. I am feeling hungry, I know it is probably mental, but I'm like why did I go through all this to still feel hunger & can't eat. When will I be able to eat food?

It is really hard in the liquid pre and post op diet. It will get better when you move to puréed. To be honest I felt the same way and now that I am on my first day of purée I am wishing to just be able to eat normal food again! LOL

Seriously though gas and acid can make you feel hungry when your not so do the gasx and the antacid. Also get in the fluids and move about.

Truth is we are stuck with these tummys now. I think accepting that helps! Best of luck

Sorry to hear that, I am 9 days out but had the oposite experience, I have no apetite worth speaking off and am on this crazy post op diet as you have to be too. Take it slow and work it out, I hope you are OK later with it all.

Diet has another 4 days of 2 oz, clear liquids X 3 daily, and , then some small bits solid added, same 2 oz. X3 daily, which is my stage 2 it has no puree, but cut up 2 0z. meals of egg, yogurt and cottage cheese, week 2 add fish, week 3 add chicken, week 4 add beef and cheeses. On 1/22/13 work out higher number for protein working the same method. But no carbs, bread, cereal, or fruits, least or no sugars or fats all the way throuigh.

I thought I was the only one but I feel hunger too. My belly actually growls. I'm exactly 1 week post opt down 7 lbs. I'm hoping that hunger goes away. Yesterday I added tomato soup and Greek yogurt to my diet on addition to the protein shakes and clear liquids. Hoping the hunger goes away as I make further additions a couple weeks from now.

I'm 10 days postop and had actual hunger for the first time today. Had some jello and it went away.

I still mentally want to eat. I can't wait for pureed foods. I just want some substance in me ;-)
