Yippee! I am done! Just had my barium swallow and it's all good! Seriously best perk so far is the fact I could only swallow 2 sips of the barium!! New life here I come!

Where are you getting sleeved? I am in SA too:)

I am getting sleeved at Texsan Hospital at 3pm

Hi Y'all,

I was sleeved on Tuesday and have been in the hospital. I will be released today, the only real problems were that I was nauseated and had the dry heaves. My blood count was low and I had to get blood. I feel great today but it was rough.

Glad you are doing better Missy :)

Glad your feeling better and got to go home! It will get easier each day now :-)

My surgeon told me that the staple line (new stomach) is about 80-90% healed over at this point (11days post op) I still have steri strips on my incisions and he said to let them fall off naturally. They are so itchy though - I can't stand it

My hospital told me not to remove the strips but sometimes they just start getting gross and wont come off... After 10 days we can remove them ourselves. :)

Well today is day three from my postop on the 20th I didn't do too bad in the hospital but after getting home last night today has been awful! I'm nauseous my pain is horrible I've been walking around my complex trying to make sure that I'm getting rid of gas in case that's the pain. I've tried some small small bites of mashed potatoes with gravy and a little bit of stuffing very moistened. Delicious but I don't think it's good For me right now. I got up this morning it made a protein drink and have been sipping on it all day. A little boring but I can't wait to see how much I weigh soon. My postop appointment is Monday at 10 AM hopefully by then I've lost some weight. As much pain as I'm in I'm having a hard time with the commitment I made for next weekend babysitting my grandkids. I really want to be well by then because they were so disappointed when I wasn't at the Thanksgiving table. I can see this will get better I hope we all have really good luck I'm so excited to lose the weight just wanted to check in to let you know how today was going check back and let me know how your day is going. I love reading all your stories

They told me the same about the steri strips but they had blood caked behind them and looked dirty to me so I took them off after 9 days and put a clean bandaid on the largest. The others looks ok.

I had glue closure and it started to look black because of lint from all of my black clothing.... I peeled the rest that hadn't fallen off this morning and my incisions are healing well@ 16 days out :)

Mine are 10 days old and look gross, but im afraid to pull them off , like you said blood is under them . My doc told me to let them fall off , I go to see him on Thursday if they are still there i'll let him pull them off haha

Has anyone tried fruit in their protein shake? I forgot to ask my doctor if I could start

November 29th in TJ Mexico

Congratulations! I just got back today from being sleeved in TJ on 11/19....my surgeons were awesome! Not sure who is performing yours, but much success to you; you''ll do fine! Just remember to sip alot and walk away the gas pains! Take some gasx and Tylenol with you just in case!

I just posted my post op "report" i was in the hospital for 5 days post op due to not being able to keep anything down ' date=' since I have been home for less than 3 days I have thrown up twice, Both times i figure out had dairy in it , so I guess I cant tolerate that , one being a protein shake . take it slow you will get out .. i know it seems like forever.[/quote']

I've made it home finally and seem to be doing fine. I am getting all of my fluids down too. The only thing is I can't sleep in my bed yet. I am sleeping in the recliner because it's comfy. Sure do miss my bed..lol. Thanks for the well wishes!!
