  1. I don't worry about the calories. I was told to concentrate on protein (70 grams per day), carbs (less than 90 per day), and water (64 oz).
  2. Mine diet is: 2 days clear liquids 2 weeks full liquids 2 weeks soft/puréed foods

    November Sleevesters?

They told me the same about the steri strips but they had blood caked behind them and looked dirty to me so I took them off after 9 days and put a clean bandaid on the largest. The others looks ok.

    November Sleevesters?

Did anyone's doc tell them how long it takes for their incision and staples to scar over on their new pouch?
  5. Just curious about everyone's post-op diet. What were your stages and how long were you on each?

Can I Ever Have A Diet Soda Again?

My dietician said never again because the carbonation can stretch your stomach.
  7. I'm so glad to read this because I'm 5 days post-op and stay hungry too. I'm trying my best to drink, drink, drink, but it's hard. I was afraid something was not right because I have had such an easy time and because I am hungry.
  8. I was sleeved on November 12th. I am doing really well. I have lost almost 3 lbs. The soreness is almost gone. I have only taken pain medication once since I left the hospital and that was because the gas they pumped in me, caused my back to hurt and I wanted to be able to sleep the night I came home. I sleep on my side. I can't wait to get back to my stomach, because I'm a stomach sleeper. I am still careful when I move because I don't want to rip my incisions back open or hurt myself on the inside. I am on a liquid diet right now. I haven't been nauseated. I've been able to tolerate all of the liquids I've tried. My appetite is diminished, but I am craving regular foods. I cannot wait to chew food again. I am so ready to get back to my regular low-carb diet. I am surprised at how well I have done.
  9. I understand how you feel. I've almost deleted my account a couple times because of negative comments people are making towards each other. I don't because I have found some positive support and information on here. There are also times I don't say what I want or express my feelings because I have no desire to read people's negative comments. We don't need the negative. We know what our issues are and how we got to where we are at. We need the positive and encouragement.

    November Sleevesters?

Sleeve complete. Waiting to go home. It's tough but doable. I feel much, much better today than I did the first two days. Everyone says day 3 is the turn around and it was for me.

I know how you feel. I keep praying nothing happens to stop the surgery. I don't know if I can stand to do the pre-op diet again. I'm sure everything will be fine. Good luck!

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

2 days left. Hospital called yesterday and told me to be there at 9 am on Monday. I'm not nervous yet. I have 12 pills to take on Sunday. I'm anxious to get packed and get this done. I've worked hard to get to this point. I've lost 26.4 pounds to this point. My goal was 30 before surgery. I'm hoping that will happen by Monday morning.
