Ok, I went to the doctor last week, and he said, I could mantain my weight here on out. It's been 10 months since my surgery on 12/12/11 and I've lost 100 pounds. I'm in a size 8 and feeling great. I said, I still needed to lose 10 more pounds to reach the goal, that the charts say I should weigh, he said, have you ever heard of big bones?, well you have them. You are at a perfect weight for your height and age. I have never been told that before in my life. Oh, and I just have to let you all know, because it could be a concern. My husband of 21 years and I have never been so in love, it's the greatest. He didn't have to lose weight, but I've seen changes in him, to be younger, and keep up with me. So many times, we take off on this journey, and leave them behind, not us. Oh, and another thing, that is important. Shop at resale shops, I love Goodwill. I have never had so many outfits, that are brand names, like Liz, Ann Taylor, Gap, and my fav, J.Crew. I guess all the thinner women, bought them, and gained weight, now they are mine, and I can spend 50 bucks, and walk out with about 300 in new outfits. Try it, when your changing sizes from 20- 8 in 10 months, you have to look at a cheaper way, I than turn around and donate them right back, win win.

You are doing great! It's all a win-win situation now. Size 8 is where I'm at. I would like to get down to 140 though. That's only 4 more lbs. But my surgeon wants me to stay where I am. This is such a hard place to be. Lovin every minute of it though. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
