How long should it take me to drink a 11 oz premier chocolate shake? Is twenty minutes too fast? While on week 2 post op, it went down fine but has me worried.

Also want to confess I did not measure my Soup this weekend. A belly ache and first nausea in a while scared me tonight. So I am back to thinner full liquids, think the roasted Tomato Soup was too much, and measuring. No guess work. I did not have lortab all day until now. Hopefully that is it. It's helping. Done so well, how could I let a little boredom and carelessness put me at risk for a leak. Thanks for holding me to this...

I think at 2 weeks it was taking me quite awhile. I would say more like 40-45 mins. It was so heavy and sat in my stomach. Im 3 months out now and it takes me about 20 mins to get it down

Miss "GasX" here... Question... what have you found better for your stomach (as far as generating less gas/gas pain)- sipping or using a spoon? Like my hubby reminded me, my stomach was always sensitive giving me problems my whole life post VSG, so... I'm only on day 5 hoping to move to stage 2 liq. today, but still belching like an Irishman a day after St. Party's Day for the love of..

Everybody can eat and drink at different rates. If you're not feeling discomfort, you're doing fine. Just don't try to push yourself this early.

I just want to mention that Tomato Soup is very acidic. I can't tolerate it now and I haven't been sleeved yet (will be tomorrow :-)) It has always given me horrible indigestion. Anyway, might think about not having foods that harsh just yet... just sayin,

Agree with you after eating it. It's on my full liquid list, but going to hold off for a long bit. I had reflux pre op, should not be surprised.

Then today 1/2 of a shake went in over an hour and I am stuffed. I did measure what I ate in a mug and it was 3 oz, so less than I feared. But a reminder to take it easy still. Thank man

I have been using gas x strips. My gas had subsided but when I took a stool softener to get things moving, my wife could hear my growling across the room yesterday. I don't mind a good burp. Better than holding it. I find sipping from a mug is the slowest and best way for me to eat Soup now. Warm up small amounts at a time.

I use gas x strips and they really help, but is the need for them going to end. Is the embarrassing stomach rumbling eventually going to stop? I'm only 5 days out but it's driving me crazy

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
