Pain Meds?

I was just sleeved on Monday. My doc sent me home today, with children's Tylenol being the only pain med. Problem is, it's way too sweet. Any suggestions?

Everyone is different I know but I never took a pain pill after I left the hospital on day 2 postop.

That's ridiculous!! You need to have him write you another script for something stronger.

Yeah, I thought it was a little crazy. I'm not in a ton of pain...just sore. sleeping gets a little tricky so I thought I'd give it a shot. Nope....too sweet. Even the nurse told me to be very careful, that if could cause dumping. I guess I'm on my own for now...

How about maximum strength tylenol? Seriously, the doctor should send you home with oxycodone or something similar.

It was sweet! ugh! I switched to a generic equivalent - equate, I think - and it was less sweet.

I am on children's pain reliever too. I don't need anything stronger.

We were sleeved the same day! Maybe try a different brand

I don't think I need anything stronger either. I bought the CVS brand. Maybe I should try cherry?? Who knows. This is one crazy ride we put ourselves on! Good luck to you!

Ok. So I had my DH get me some chewable children's Tylenol....bubble gum flavor lol. Worked like a charm. Just a suggestion if anyone else is having issues with sweet stuff.

My surgeon sent me home with some percocets but I havent taken any since I HATE pain meds. Pain meds always cause me a ton of problems. I stopped all pain meds the day after surgery. The morphine was making me vomit and itch, so I said screw this lol and didn't touch the med pump after I figured out what was causing the vomiting.

Glad it worked for you!

The junior strength melt away grape flavored cvs brand are ok. I cant take the syrup yuck.
