Weigh More After Surgery
I've been on full fluids since yesterday and have lost 8 lbs post op (sleeved 10/3) I definitely gained weight after the surgery because of the gas, fluids, bed rest, and no bm. After you release the gas and pee out all the fluids, and start walking, the weight begins to come off. I think all 8 lbs came off of my neck and face.

Husband Sabotaging Weight Loss',,,,,bstrd
I am a Mom also but because I love my child and don't want him living like I did (overweight and depressed), we don't allow him to eat junk food on a daily basis. Of course, we understand a cookie or ice cream every now and then won't hurt him, he gets it in moderation.

Still Have An Appetite 4 Days Post Op
I am right with you both! And sleeved on October 3rd My fiancé and his sister had garlic bread last night and when it came out of the oven it smelled delicious! Then when I ate some yogurt and felt that fullness, I really couldn't have imagined eating that garlic bread. I think we will always have a love for food but it will get better as time goes on

Same here! I was shocked I was able to have a bowel movement so quickly- Cramping Pain
Hmm I'm not sure what it could be you are probably eating something your tummy isn't able to tolerate yet- Sleeved 10/4. Finally Back Home!
I had a very similar experience! I was sleeved on 10/3. I passed out in the operation room and woke up in recovery unsure of what was going on. I was shocked to know I was done with surgery. I had horrible gas pain for 3 days, so they kept me 2 nights in the hospital. I was released yesterday and do feel better today. I'm glad you are home and doing well! Keep us up to date!- Oh All This Burping
I have! I think it's drinking too fast/eating to fast and not letting it settle at first- Cramping Pain
Are you having a bowel movement on a regular basis? If not, it could be backing up in your stomach and be causing the uncomfortable pain.- Advise Please!
Are you getting in enough liquids/protein?- Sleeved 10/3
I was released from the hospital yesterday at 11:30am. I had horrible gas pain from the start. It was worse than the surgery pain! I finally passed gas today (4 days later) and am feeling MUCH better. My incision sites (5) are healing really nicely. My drainage site is closed up and healing like it should be. I was able to shower this morning, which made me feel better too. I am still taking liquid Vicodin about twice a day. I walk slowly and need help getting out of bed. I've slept through the night the past 2 nights. I do miss sleeping on my stomach though. I've only lost 3 lbs since the surgery and 12 lbs since the pre-op diet. I can really tell I've lost the weight in my neck/face. I am taking down liquids, Jello, etc really well. No vomitting or nausea. I had some yogurt today and that sat well with my stomach too. I have been trying to walk as much as I can for a better recovery. Anyone near my surgery date and have only lost a few lbs??- What Would Happen If I Cheated?
You'll probably get a leak in your sleeve, have an infection and have to go back to the hospital. Not something worth a couple of tortilla chips.- Finally Frustrates Enough To Post About It
Are you exercising and drinking a lot of water? Maybe you're retaining fluid or gaining muscle if you're exercising. Hang in there! Maintaining is better than gaining.- 3 Weeks Post Op, Down 27 Lbs! With Pics
That is amazing!! You must feel like a whole new woman! Congratulations- Pain Meds?
That's ridiculous!! You need to have him write you another script for something stronger.- Update
Great job!! You are looking awesome. What a confidence boost!- I Did It! Surgery This Morning :)

When did your pain start to subside? Or is it still at the same level as when you were at the hospital?? Let me know!!- I Did It! Surgery This Morning :)
@wishfulsimee When did your pain start to subside. I'm wondering if I will be able to babysit on Saturday evening? I don't have to pick up any children, etc... Basically sitting on the couch. What are your thoughts??- I Did It! Surgery This Morning :)
Lucky... The dry mouth is a worse feeling than the pain I feel from the drainage no matter how much water I swish with, it becomes dry within 10 minutes. Tomorrow is a new day though - Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
