Bleeding Gums

Hi all ,, I had my surgery on 10th may and so far have lost 20kg which is awsome ,, however I have noticed that since about the 10kg weight loss my gums have been bleeding quite a bit..sometimes for no reason at all, i will swallow and i can taste blood.. I am due to go back for a check up next week but i am wondering if anyone else has this problem or if anyone knows what vitamin I would be lacking in to cause this.. I do take all my multi vitamins and minerals plus calcium etc.. my gums still seem nice and pink and i dont seem to have any other problems at all with my sleeve.. hope some one can help..thankyou :)

Are you or were you taking herparin during/after surgery. This could cause it. Just a thought

yes they did give me heperin shots after surgery.. do you think that could still be having an effect nearly 4 months out?

That would be a long effect on Heparin. I'm not a doctor so it would be good to get a medical doc's intake on this. Have you called your dentist? The quickest way to get a quick answer would be to call your surgeon's office and let them know what's going on and they can give you some feedback or order some blood workup. Let us know what's going on. :)

Hi

My gums also bled and it felt like the skin on the inside of my mouth was peeling.Pharmasist said I needed vit B Co.

Now it is fine again.

Thanks for asking the question... I am having bleeding gums as well. Like you no other problems, take my vit's and B12... mouth feels fine. Just when I brush I noticed.

* had surgery end of may

My gums bleed when I brush my teeth. I'm a little over 6 weeks post op. I'm curious to hear what your doc says.
