  2. Hi all ,, I had my surgery on 10th may and so far have lost 20kg which is awsome ,, however I have noticed that since about the 10kg weight loss my gums have been bleeding quite a bit..sometimes for no reason at all, i will swallow and i can taste blood.. I am due to go back for a check up next week but i am wondering if anyone else has this problem or if anyone knows what vitamin I would be lacking in to cause this.. I do take all my multi vitamins and minerals plus calcium etc.. my gums still seem nice and pink and i dont seem to have any other problems at all with my sleeve.. hope some one can help..thankyou

    Traveling

walk it..the more walking you do the better.. especially if you have been sitting for 2.5 hours..happy travels
  6. I never told my son (15) or my daughter (22) anything at all,,, then again i have told absolutly no-one about my surgury period... all they knew was i was having tummy problems and had to get it sorted.. they were a bit concerned but didnt ask too many questions about it,, just wanted to know that i would be fine afterwards..my grandchildren were more concerned and were so sweet looking after megiving tummy kisses etc.. as for explaining my weight loss.... well everyone who knows me knows that i am always on some sort of diet or exercise program, so to them i am just doing that and this one i sactually working.. cheeky i know but as i see it its no-one elses business except mine.. maybe one day i wil tell my sister ..
  7. sounds like start of the flu.. maybe.. hopefully nothing more sinister..good luck at the docs tomorrow.. xx
  8. I am same as you ..i have had surgery and not told a single soul.. not even my partner.. as far as he was aware i was in hospistal for "cysts" and him thinking girly problems never questioned me..my resoning is because when i had lapbanding my ex husband blabbed to friends and family especially after i asked him not to say anything..so was very much judged. so lapband out and sleeve in ,, new partner new friends and no one knows not even family..all have just seen me doing my high protein low carb diet and lots and lots of walking... as for support.. well I am a pretty tough now after being hurt by ex so realise the best support i can get is from me and my belief in myself.. and of course always coming on this site to see how others do it... good luck with yours xx

    Chickening Out!

  10. And this is the reason I have told NO-BODY.. not even my new partner.. poor love thought I was having some "cysts" removed.. as it was "girly " stuff he never asked too many questions,, and as for the weight loss , well even before surgery he knew I was determined to stick to my HIGH Protein LOw carb diet....poor love a little clueless but at least I dont have the wispers and back stabiing from his family and friends.. MY resoning for not telling anyone was because when I had the lapband and swore my ex-husband to secrecy he betrayed that trust and told people i didnt want to know , who they then bought the subject up to me in front of other NEW friends that had no idea of my weight struggles asking all sorts of stuff.. not discreat at all... glad he is now my EX husband... I hope your husband gets more supportive of your decisions and wishes ,, good luck x
  11. I have been experiencing the same thing, so took advice and thought it was lactose. so got all the lactose free stuff, but still have odd sharp pains every now and again, so thought is was trapped gas still,, so went on de gas , which definatly helped, but then last couple days came back, so after evaluating what i was eating and drinking have come to the conclusion that SUGAR is doing it for me.. i am fine till I have a hot sustagen or cup of tea,, even tho I only have a little bit in ,,have cut down alot of sugars in my tea since surgery , so thing will have to cut it all out in future... so no sugar and de-gas works for me ..

  14. i dont know about surgery at 12 because surely your body goes thru so many changes as you grow up and thru your teenage years,,, but the family did what was best for her health,/ both mentally and phsically,, and to me she looks incredibly amazingly beautiful and has such confidence,, it just shines thru..
  15. just a thought..maybe he is worried that as you loose the weight and as your confidence grows you will change and maybe find a new best friend..
  16. when you make mash potatoes.. crack a raw egg into it .. you seriously cannot taste it and it makes your mash nice and fluffy.. my brother whos is a chef gave me this little hint and its yummo..
  17. What you MAY suffer (or if you are lucky may not) is actually called Diffuse hair loss,,or loose anagen syndrome(growing stage) gets a week conection between the hairs cuticle and the inner root sheath..hence it doesnt grow so hits the telagen stage (resting ) for a longer period of time where the hair follicle shrinks and the papilla seperates from the bulb which ends up in hair loss.. the theory is to go back 3 months previous to find out what caused it.. it can be one of many things including 1. high fever 7.loss off blood 2. crash dieting 8.poor diet 3. oral contraceptives 9. low Vitamin B12 4. operations 10. low copper levels 5. food (lack of nutrients) 11. low folic acid 6. extreme stress.. 12. low Iron well as you can see fron the list above we will go thru pretty much all of this and the effects hit between 3 +6mths after our surgery,,the good news is that DIFFUSE Hair loss does get replaced.. just up your Vitamins,, take some silica and Vitamin C, up your clacium levels, get a good quality proffessional range of shampoo and conditioner (i recomend Nioxin as it is specially formulated for thinning hair to help it regrow) and a really good head massage to stimulate the scalp..can take up to another 6months for regrowth but it will regrow. hope this helps x

  19. excellent news.. well done x

    Hair Loss Solution

I am a hairdresser and can honestly tell you that all the answer you have given are correct ..infact it can take between 3 +6 months to loose your hair after ANY stress,, wether its surgery ,diet, sudden weight loss, the flu, death in family, sudden shock , taking antibiotics ect,, the reason its takes this long to start falling out is because of your natural hair growth patterns, and every ones growth patterns are different,,( ever notice how sometimes your hair will grow and grow, then suddenly doesnt grow much at all , then when you brush your hair there is more strands than usual?? thats growth patterns... the good news is that as one strand falls out then a new one will replace it with in weeks, and soon you will notice lots of new regrowth and fuzzies,, by about a year out your patterns should return to normal... but for those looking for a shampoo to help try Nioxin... i give it to all my customers who are loosing hair from the stresses in life or who are naturally thinning hair..hope this helps

    Band To Sleeve

hello.. I had the band in for about 6-7yrs was all good, then one day just stopped working , i started to regain and didnt matter what i did could not get the scales to move back down... I had my band removed 8 weeks ago. then exactly 2 weeks ago today I was sleeved.. i know its early days but so far I am sooo happy with it, down 7kg in 2 weeks .. pain wise i honestly thought the lapband in and out is more painful, but seriously not that bad,, the sleeve has given me no discomfort at all except obviously the first day but more in the wound site that the stomach it self.. was up and about the next day and still have no pain at all... but then i have a mind set that because i have chosen to do this to myself then I really have no right to complain about pain .. however i guess if I was really in sever pain then I would be crying like a baby lol.. for me it was easy and painless and best move I have done.. good luck with your surgery x
  22. ha Ha crazy lady.. i love it... I probably would of stalked him around the shop till i figured out who he was lol
