  • Are you taking Prilosec or anything like that? I swear I felt like I was starving, it was gas/acid whatever. Hope you can make it two more days. I don't recommend cheating at this stage.

Hello,

I had surgery on 9/17 and am not cleared to go on my soft diet until 10/4 and must honestly say that I have been eating regular food off and on since I have been about a week out. I would have some potato soup a small amount with some chicken broth added. Last Saturday I had some tuna. I have been able to digest these things quit easily. What has surprised me is that some days I have had a hard time drinking a protien shake but yet I can turn around and eat a piece of turkey sandwich meat wrapped in cheese. I am not advising you to cheat by eating early but i did and I have been just fine. Have you tried apple sauce?

I was also sleeved on 9/17 and I was cleared to start purée today but I have been eating baked potatoes, refried beans, chicken, applesauce, oatmeal and I am finally satisfied and not starving all the time. I haven't had any problems, I eat slow and chew things so much that they are near liquid before I swallow. I don't want to encourage you to do what I am doing but it may be that you will not be satisfied until you start on more solid foods.

Take it one day at a time and you will do just fine. this is hard to stay on track especially when you know that your day is coming up to add other foods to your diet. But it will pass before you know it. :)

I though about eating something since I only have two more days to go but I just get to thinking that they have rules for a reason. If my dinner is not filling I will break down and maybe do an egg white.

I was cleared to have yogurt when I came home frm the hospital. Your doctor may hv you waiting for a reason or maybe just his preference.

I think it's just the preference of the hospital because its the food program for all their bariatric patients. Kaiser
