Anxiety Meds?

I was wondering if anyone here had taken anxiety meds before surgery. I called my dr and asked for meds the night before and the morning of. Because when I get overly nervous I get sick :(

I did not take them ahead of time, but when I was in pre-op and started to lose it, as in I wanted to pull the IV out and run away, the nice nurse gave me a couple of valium. If she hadn't done that, I don't know that I would have made it to surgery. Definitely ask!

LEt me know what he says because I get the same way, my stomach gets really nervous.

I know the feeling...always starts w my stomach! My hubby has a way of calming me tho.

When I saw my dr pre op she actually told me to take a Xanax morning of w sip of water!!! Again I guess it's all up to ur surgeon! Who knows this thurs am I will let u know if I take her up on it!!!

I'm the same way. I was told it was ok to take a Xanax the morning of surgery, and everything was dandy. But still ask your dr.
